Luckee C (mx) wrote: London Dreams is a sensible; and well-made film, something Bollywood has needed for a long time; a mass entertaining musical! London Dreams offers the full entertainment and lush music, but it lacks better direction and a working storyline, which fails to deliver! The story of Devgan's jealousy against his own childhood BEST friend, and that he tries to destroy him by putting him on drugs... too fictionus! Recommended! (One Time Watch) Verdict = Above Average

Art S (ru) wrote: Although it might seem that there is a certain randomness to the way events unfold here, there is no doubt that these doomed lovers (who hadn't yet even professed their love) are caught in the gears of their inexorable fate. It matters not that they make foolish decisions, because even if they bucked the plot, they'd still be doomed (to crucifixion even). Mizoguchi takes the opportunity to comment again on issues of gender and class and morality. Some stunningly beautiful set-pieces.

James B (kr) wrote: This was really good. I'm starting to enjoy watching some of these films that aren't the big box office titles. Kind of a "Reality Bites for this decade. The movie follows a number of singles through their relationships. A funny watch.

Robbie N (jp) wrote: While failing to deliver the greatness of the first, the concept of this movie is great fun, and it's hilarious script makes it's unoriginality seem unimportant.

Lee J (nl) wrote: This was one of my favorite movies as a kid. If I rewatched it I'd probably realize how preposterous the plot it though. If you don't take it too seriously it's a fun family film to watch and the story is really engaging. If in doubt just watch it. P.S. the film score is actually pretty good :)

Ken C (au) wrote: A gruesome revenge thriller that brilliantly inspired by a Greek tragedian Oedipus The King. Oldboy's main theme is seeking truth that governed by the flawed nature of humanity and an individual's role in the course of destiny in a harsh universe. Oedipus relentlessly pursues the truth against the advice of his wife-mother, Jocasta and at the end gouges his eyes out to avoid seeing a world that despises his truth, similarly Oh Daesu relentlessly pursues the truth against the advice of his girlfriend-daughter, Mido and ended up cuts out his tongue to avoid revealing the truth to his world. Oldboy is a perfect example of film adaptation distinguishable to have its own identity, but has the ability to preserve the intention of the original material.
