Andrew P (ru) wrote: It's a lot of fun watching Marko Zaror work. He's a great fighter and has good on-screen charisma too. Don't let the subtitles get you down. This movie is well worth watching.

Is there some sort of debt owed? This martial arts western, as I'll call it, is just downright bad. Even with established stars such as Gary Busey, Adrienne Barbeau, James Hong and Peter Sherayko, there is just no salvaging this film. I saw it through but don't have much positive to say. I'm just a crazed western addict with a great deal of will.

An interesting, but disturbingly grim, look inside a professional house of fetish, its employees, and the clients that pay for their services. Despite the subject matter, I appreciate the humanistic portrayal of all individuals featured in the film.

David F (jp) wrote: This is classic Film Noir with all the beloved components: a femme fatale, a chump who falls hard for her, and a treasure of cash to propel the plot. Brilliant direction, acting and lighting brings these mid-century Angelenos fully to life with vivid style and crackling dialogue.

Kyle C (it) wrote: Vertical Limit was created during an awkward stage for cinematography since it was trying to incorporate many new special effects into the film. Although they were pretty lame and corny compared to today?s standard, they were pioneers in creating many of the scenes of the movie. Always respect the classics. However, the movie did bounce around all over the place which made it very hard to follow. Personally, I also felt the whole sister relationship was kind of weird? a romance such as a wife or girlfriend trapped on the mountain would have been a better approach. . As for the acting, well the fake crying was awful to say the least. Also the group that volunteered to go on the expedition was extremely unrealistic; in real life there is no way that a mediocre climber such as the goofballs of the group would ever go on a search on the toughest mountain in the world. The first half of the movie (the only part I watched) had way too much foreshadowing as well. There is a difference between building suspense and telling you what?s going to happen next and Vertical Limit sure did surpass that limit.
