Thomas K (ru) wrote: Cruise attempts to stretch here, and it's no disgrace but Singer approaches it all so clinically the it ultimately becomes a snooze. Singer models the film on Day of the Jackal, but he's no Fred Zinnemann.

Mohammad A (ca) wrote: saw series are the best movies I've seen ever.. I'm not talking about the horror as I don't see it's scaring at all, I meant the story itself, the plot and the ending which make you see the movie in a different eye I can't stop repeating all the series again and again and again

Ben B (es) wrote: This movie stars Jim Carrey in the titular role as a private investigator who is hired to find missing pets. When a simple pet case becomes a bigger conspiracy, Ace only has a few short weeks to solve the mystery before the big Superbowl. This movie holds a special place in a lot of people my age's hearts because they grew up with it, loving Carrey's over-the-top performance. I never saw this movie as a kid. Instead of Ace Ventura, my Jim Carrey memories include Liar Liar and Bruce Almighty. Honestly, this movie doesn't do it for me. Jim Carrey has made a career of overacting, and, while this isn't as bad as The Mask, it isn't anything to write home about. The premise is innocent enough, but the sexual jokes just didn't do anything for me save for the climactic crime-solving scene. I will say that it's a harmless family movie that audiences will enjoy if only for nostalgia's sake, but if you haven't seen either Ace Ventura movie, you aren't really missing much. Side note: I love seeing real celebrities play fictional versions of themselves, and Dan Marino in this movie is just fun.

Alexander Z (us) wrote: The editing and some scenes really drag this movie down.

Salman S (mx) wrote: Surprisingly still entertaining and fun to watch. A simple Western story, with the basic Western plot. A remake of this movie would be great, and it wouldn't even cost much since it basically employs the Reservoir Dogs idea of a one building set and nothing else. Susan Hayward is great in this film and is Tyrone Power. But of course, the ending is the typical Hollywood happily ever afters, which does make the film lose a little bit of cred.

Jayne D (ag) wrote: This is a great movie for little, middle size, big kids and adults! Very funny! Liam lesson as narrator is great.... Thomas from Downton abbey is the baddie. Remarkable that this was made by children's charity Cinemagic whose patrons include Jullian Fellows, Dermot OLeary and Pierce Brosnan. They trained up a lot of young people in the making so it is so amazing bearing that in mind that it is a brilliant movie.... Going back to see it again! J

Thomas T (mx) wrote: I saw Wildlike at the Savannah Film Festival followed by an interesting Q&A session with the director and writer Frank Hall Green. Without spoiling the film's subject matter, I'll say that it's an important and difficult one and the film deals with it gracefully. However the truth of the matter hurts and at some point I felt the urge to leave the theater. I'm glad I stayed though. It is a beautiful cinematic journey into Alaska as well as a cathartic emotional journey for the audience. Watch out for an ingeniously funny scene when you least expect it!

David A (ag) wrote: Great visuals, check. Great actors, check. Great story?? Mark it as incomplete. "Crimson Peak" may be one of Guillermo Del Toro's beautiful films, but I'm sure everyone thought this was going to be a scary movie. They were probably disappointed to find out it was just a gothic, romantic thriller with a little hint of ghost story in there. The problem I have with this film is its story. I mean, that ending was definitely rushed and unsatisfying. It didn't build up because we all knew what was going to happen. The film started out great, but then it slowly turned into a ghastly, uninspired "who-dun-it" kind of thriller. Should have been a fully-fleshed ghost movie, to be honest, or a horror film like Del Toro's "Pan's Labyrinth." I think Del Toro lose interest in the story at the end, because that's how I felt when I finished watching the movie.
