Accurate M (kr) wrote: In my opinion, this is the most underrated Marvel movie. I don't get the hate. The story is fascinating, the acting is superb, and the effects make it look real. The only negative was how they used the Mandarin. But even that is all cleared up by the one-shot "All Hail the King".

Mark A (ag) wrote: This proved to be a most annoying film, about a man with anger issues whose life is spiraling out of control. David Zellner wrote, directed, and starred in this film, and plays the main (unnamed) character with a quietly simmering rage that often boils over in inappropriate behavior. Rather than feel sympathy, one feels that he has been the architect of his reduced circumstances. The acting from the supporting cast is amateurish and the lines are often delivered in an emotionless monotone. The cat, who one would expect to have a central role, is seen only in photographs, or in a lifeless cameo. At eighty minutes, the film seemed a lot longer, and this viewer suffered through to the end, only to be disappointed by a needlessly violent attack on a helpless victim whose guilt only existed in the main character's mind. A most unpleasant experience.

Levi T (it) wrote: Gorgeous cinematography and a creepy score are tragically wasted on this parade of cheap pop-out scares that nevertheless crawls along at a snail's pace until a sloppy climax full of bad CGI suddenly reduces everything to pure silliness.

Brett B (es) wrote: A gentle satire from Billy Wilder, this is among his best films (and one that has, until now, flown under my radar). Lemmon's good, and Matthau is straight-up outstanding in what I'd say is one of his finest roles (and one for which he very deservedly won an Oscar). The screenplay is quite funny, but this is far from slapstick stuff; the writing is cerebral and witty (characteristic of Wilder), and the movie never stoops for an easy laugh. It lacks the angry bite of some of Wilder's other works, but that ultimately makes the movie much more of an enjoyable romp.

John K (fr) wrote: This made-for-TV film from 1981 is a classic tale of vengeance for crimes left unpunished. Charles Durning stars as the local mailman who rouses 3 others to hunt down Bubba, a mentally-retarded man thought to have killed a local girl. After killing him, the 4 discover he was innocent, so they begin to cover up the crime. After they are found not-guilty in court, Bubba's mother promises vengeance from one source or another. For a TV movie, this sucker is rather thick with atmosphere and some genuine chills. It is a familiar story, but the execution is fantastic along with a great performance from Durning whose character grows gradually more desperate to save himself from persecution. The story progresses in a rather predictable fashion and offers few surprises, but that itself is probably not a surprise. Family-friendly and perfect for Halloween viewing, Dark Night of the Scarecrow is a solid 80's effort. The newly released, restored DVD is a thing of beauty.

Mallory B (ag) wrote: Very sweet story. Just the right balance in comedy, tragedy and romance. I can't say that the cinematography is that spectacular, but the great story totally makes the movie!

Young, Laura Dern, Taylor Nichols, Mark Harelik, Julio Oscar Mechoso, and Sarah Danielle MadisonDirected By: Joe JohnstonReviewThis time, it's not just a walk in the park! You know a lot of Jurassic Park fans hate this entire in the series for many reasons and most I do understand but heres the thing, the second film is much worse and I actually like this one.In need of funds for research, Dr. Alan Grant accepts a large sum of money to accompany Paul and Amanda Kirby on an aerial tour of the infamous Isla Sorna. It isn't long before all hell breaks loose and the stranded wayfarers must fight for survival as a host of new -- and even more deadly -- dinosaurs try to make snacks of them. The movie was trying to be a serviceable fun sequel that was more traditional the book titled The Lost World unlike the last film. It had the raptors being able to communicate with each other, the parachute scene so as to why people say this worst then the second is very insulting. The story is not Oscar worth, its not complex one either it's just a fun rescue mission. That's good it's plain and simple and makes for a fun film. The performances now, that's the bad part I mean most of the cast do fine I just didn't like the guy who played Billy( the guy in the parachute in the end I think that's what his name was) and the mother, she was really annoying. Joe Johnston has actually given me four movies I fairly enjoy and one that I love(Captain America: The First Avenger) the other films Honey I shrunk The Kids, Jumanji, and I do really like The Wolfman remake with Anthony Hopkins I think it's a very good and fun remake. He does a good job here as well.Considering how much people hate this film I guess I'll say I hate myself for liking this movie and so I'm giving Jurassic Park III a three out of five.

Jeffrey V (de) wrote: Not a Major Studio film, nevertheless to Anyone who likes, epic space battles this is first in a series of watchable B movies. Story is good, second half movie improves. Low budget but decent graphics. There's just not alot out there in this specfic genre and that said, it released at a good time. Lacks strong acting but the story carries the movie. In fairness I gave it a higher rating due to the attempt and concept as well as the story which becomes only obvious, later in movie. If you enjoy war in Space, you'll admire the effort, even if restrained by the budget.
