Robin N (nl) wrote: The title always tells you that it is a movie about kids and for kids. But the later part is absolutely wrong. The movie goes on and on in pursuit of teaching people some lessons. Kids are always ignored when they try to put forward their point of view. Here too the chillar party as they are called by the adults are ignored. But they come together to form a unbreakable friendship. In doing so the film becomes unrealistic and sometimes over the top. But if one does want to relax on a free day, then this movie is perfect to ease out of your worries and enjoy life!

Brian C (fr) wrote: Hell Night has lots of great elements to it...the haunted house, college pranks, a deranged person living under said house...and Linda Blair.Hell Night is fun. Not perfect, but a lot of fun. The 4 main characters are really good, and you feel for their situation. Acting is pretty good overall as well.
Paul B (it) wrote: No prizes for guessing who I'm rooting for in this seemingly "made for TV drama" that pits the Behrani family, headed by Ben Kingsley, against the dim-witted character that Jennifer Connelly plays as they battle for possession of a house she lost due to her own negligence. As they try to settle into a new life in the United States, it is the quiet dignity of the once wealthy Iranian family that stays with you long after the credits have rolled. Nice performances from Kingsley and Iranian actress Shohreh Aghdashloo as his elegant wife, while Connelly for her part looks pretty in the role. Sad film, but largely over-rated, and never really rises from this "made for TV" feel. Still, top marks for telling a story where the American characters are hardly sympathetic. Worth watching.
Iryna K (nl) wrote: Well, this movie made me register at RT... I just... I'm not good at writing reviews and English is not my native... I can't say it was that moving - I don't know even a half a dozen movies that I'd consider moving. I'm not sure it's powerful - I mean it's not a WWII movie or anything. Just one family - and not an epic like, say, Legends of the Fall. It's an intimate motion picture but it gives you the full set of emotions - and, at the same time, it's so subtle. With no spoilers and no plot retelling (again!), I just want to say that George Carlin's "The planet is fine. The people are fucked" is so right and to the point. This movie just makes you feel. Oh, and... If you feel something about someone or want to say something to someone - do say it, right away. Life is awfully short. I do recommend this film.
Ryan C (kr) wrote: Based on the incredible true story, "Milk" dissects the life of politician Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man elected to public office. The film really drives home the point that no obstacle can't be conquered if you're passionate about it. Sean Penn's performance is an acting masterpiece as the movie is exclusively on the weight of his shoulders. Not only does he turn in a fantastic performance, but the surrounding cast is equally on par making "Milk" a great film about one of the most underrated stories in American politics.
