Writer Peter Morgan's legendary battle between Richard Nixon, the disgraced president with a legacy to save, and David Frost, a jet-setting television personality with a name to make, in the story of the historic encounter that changed both their lives. For three years after being forced from office, Nixon remained silent. But in summer 1977, the steely, cunning former commander-in-chief agreed to sit for one all-inclusive interview to confront the questions of his time in office and the Watergate scandal that ended his presidency. Nixon surprised everyone in selecting Frost as his televised confessor, intending to easily outfox the breezy British showman and secure a place in the hearts and minds of Americans (as well as a $600,000 fee). Likewise, Frost's team harbored doubts about their boss' ability to hold his own. But as cameras rolled, a charged battle of wits resulted. . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

I feel like our new generation is spoiled with better details and graphics, but this film must have been ground breaking for its time.3.5 Stars

Tim S (ca) wrote: I had been hearing about The Battery for months before I actually saw it, and to be honest, I really don't see what all the fuss is about. It's minimalist in execution and style, and given that it's a low-budget project from a first-time director, I can understand why. That doesn't make it anymore compelling to me though. The movie is mostly bland, going against many of the reviews about it when it was released, calling it "a refreshingly original take on the genre." There's nothing refreshing or original about it. It's basically The Walking Dead, but with a little less drama and a lot more saltier language. This long-dead genre isn't elevated or destroyed by this film at all, and it feels very much like just another modern take that we've seen already. The acting is decent, the effects are good, but overall, it left me feeling nothing for it really.
