Kristofer H (es) wrote: Proper Perspective: There have been a string of movies lately where as I watched them and once it ended my only thought was, "What was the point of this movie again?" Sadly Personal Shopper falls into this category despite an interesting premise and good acting. Let's talk about Personal Shopper...Official Synopsis: Revolves around a ghost story that takes place in the fashion underworld of Paris.Plot: After her brother dies, a medium stays in France to try and establish a connection with him based on a pact the two made. Everything around her starts to fall apart after a "sign" appears. Take: At the end of this movie I was trying to not be harsh, because it appeared to be an above average student film or first feature effort from an Indie Director. Well, this was the 28th directorial effort and 32nd writing credit. Not a new film-maker.The plot for the most part is interesting and while Maureen Cartwright (Kristen Stewart) was trying to make a connection with the spirit world and running around the city as a "personal shopper" for a celebrity (a model?) the movie was interesting enough. The tension was built well through silence and the scenery. Everything after that just did not work. All of the subplots started, then just ended with either no resolution or the story just simply moved on. There was a subplot with a mysterious string of text messages that just stopped. Another one with a ghost in Maureen's brothers house, just sort of ended. The movie was not clear if she was connecting with her brother or another spirit. Were the text messages from a side character or a spirit? Overall this movie was well shot. It looked nice, but whatever message or story the writer director, Olivier Assayas, was trying to convey just did not come across on the screen.Recommendation: I am a huge supporter of smaller movies and Indie writer directors, but this is one to skip. Or maybe wait until it shows up on a streaming service for free. Personal Shopper is not a movie I can recommend for anyone to go see...It's easy to crack on Kristen Steward, but she is a good actress outside of franchises and the best part of this movie.

Supes S (ru) wrote: It's a fun animated film. It's probably the best one out of the other modern DC Comics animated film. A must-see for hardcore superhero fans.

Brad S (gb) wrote: - Watched this a second time, and still enjoyed it. Not a great film, but an all-star cast makes it worth a watch.- This one didn't do well with the critics, but I enjoyed it. It has a killer cast and all are good in it. Jason Bateman and Tina Fey ground it, and Adam Driver as some life to it. Worth a watch!
