Paul S (ca) wrote: This was worth watching. I don't think I'll be watching it again. Still, it was a valiant debut effort for the filmmaker. I like the premise of the movie. However, having said that, there were elements with the story that could have been better. It's based on an absurd impossible premise which is fine. My gripes have more to do with unrealistic behavior in the situation. Realistic: The characters acknowledge that they can't just deposit the money in the bank because the IRS would question where it came from. However they still went out to buy cars and a house without regard for the same IRS concern. I'd have liked some kind of part of the story to include how one would theoretically legitimize the huge sums of cash that were falling into their laps. That to me personally was a red flag breaching the realism that would have better let me suspend disbelief to accept the premise of the movie. Notwithstanding all of those things, there were moments that intrigued me, especially when the main couple started hurting each other's feelings to get the teapot to pay out, and even darker considerations about the harm they can do to earn more. I liked the progression how they were becoming more demented in their attempts to earn money from the teapot. For a first time effort at making a movie, this was excellent. The movie had great casting/actors which really lent lots of authenticity to the project. I want to see Ramaa Mosley make more movies. Her work on this movie is especially impressive knowing that this was an independent fundraiser project. Whatever poor reviews have been given, there's plenty of quality here to merit Ramaa moving on to something new, bigger and better with some major players feeling confident in her ability to deliver something of stand-out quality! I'm exited to see what she does next. Do not underestimate what this woman can do next if she can get the details together to pull of something this good. 5 stars for effort. 4 for the final product. I know she has a 5 star movie in her! Don't listen to dopey critics who haven't done anything nearly as difficult as making a movie. It's way too easy to be critical of something and way harder to implement the ambition to pull it all off! Go Ramaa!

Keegan M (ag) wrote: "Trust me, I'm a cop"This movie, refusing to adhere to the police procedural movies that have become trite, was quite enjoyable thanks to a suspenseful soundtrack and excellent acting by the outgoing, womanizing, cunning Richard Gere as Dennis Peck, and as Andy Garcia, as the cold, calculated Internal Affairs Officer Raymond Avila. It's refreshing to see Richard Gere so far from type, and he performs admirably.Thoroughly enjoyable, this movie is extremely underrated and is worth taking a look if you haven't already seen it.

Ane B (gb) wrote: This is easily one of the best, if not the best anti-war film I've seen. At the very least, it's the best anti-war film set in the first world war, an era I still feel is not explored enough through film. Now, I've only seen a small portion of Stanley Kubrick's films years ago and never actually knew why he is such a highly regarded film director. Now I know better. The film is beautifully shot with the battlefield scenes being a particular highlight, only a true artist of film could've made a film that holds up so well. Not to mention the dialogue itself is masterfully done and executed extremely well by the cast including veteran actors such as Kirk Douglas, George Macready and Adolphe Menjou. I wont say the film doesn't have it's issues, because there are some minor ones, but not something that would ruin the experience or the film itself. I will only say that at the beginning I had a bit of a problem with the French being portrayed by Americans with an American accent, but the story, the performance and the pace of the film have completely immersed me in the film, that it was almost unnoticeable by the tenth minute mark. It's a thought-provoking anti-war film as it should be. It shows the disgustingness of war with brutal honesty, where foot soldiers aren't really being thought of or even treated as human beings, but rather being treated as a simple expendable number. It really sticks with you and kind of makes you sick that something like this actually existed and by all means still exists to this day.
Carmela (nl) wrote: A sprawling story of Renaissance politics, betrayal, and love, this epic tale is well-shot and beautifully cast. Tyrone Power plays the spy of the evil duke (Orson Welles), sent into the castle of a small, peaceful village. Love mingles his quest for power, and true loyalty emerges. Tender scenes dot the already breathtaking landscape of on-location European architecture and hillsides. A moving story, and much fulfilling.

Torion O (nl) wrote: Like most movies of this sort, there are jokes that kind of fall flat. That being said, there really wasn't a lot to work with since the Twilight movies were basically parodies of themselves.
