Anna C (nl) wrote: More than 50 years after the first Village of the damned - a cult - and almost 20 years after Carpenter's remake - also quite good - director Makinov moves the action on a mexican island where a pregnant woman and her husband arrive for a vacation... the trouble is that the story has too many holes: when they get on the island almost all the grown-ups are already dead, but they walk around in a silent and empty village without even one spot of blood.... the children are feral as we discover later, but they don't attack them at all for the first half of the movie.... and these are just two examples... it could have been much better.

Petros T (de) wrote: A simplistic film that can be best described by the words "ABBA - sentimentalism - song - dance - fun". And yes, I had fun.

Phil H (nl) wrote: Curious little crime thriller based around a disfigured criminal that has a major face lift, almost like an early version of 'Face Off' really accept a little more realistic. Its kinda unique because the film almost comes across as an endearing story of a criminal who turns his life around after receiving his new face but then turns into a silly revenge thriller towards the end. I thought the endearing story might have worked better. The cast is pretty slick with Rourke as the main lead and almost a prediction of his future facial issues and Morgan Freeman looking and acting exactly the same as usual. Forest Whitaker is looking really geeky with a stupid beard and Lance Henriksen is looking completely hilarious in some very gay looking tight fitting 80's attire complete with a ridiculous earring. Silly title and surprisingly for a Walter Hill film not that good, the problem being its almost two different films stuck together awkwardly.
Carlos I (us) wrote: Pretty solid sequel. Some stuff is kinda over the top in typical 80s action movie fashion. But Bronson is great, as usual.
familiar s (ru) wrote: Hitchcock's fans are bound to find something or another interesting in this simple crime drama, but I failed to hail any part of it. Not just the predictability, but the too-good-to-be-real love story also distracted me. Despite watching a work of fiction, I simply couldn't ignore that sort of execution.
Konrad A (br) wrote: No way I will not watch this again because I'm not a fan of old fashioned movies, and it's a black and white movie! No Color to this movie! The only thing I like is how they are setting sale on the water, other than that I'm not gonna watch this again!!!

Peter D (it) wrote: This movie was okay, but just okay. The concept of the movie was cool and the fighting scenes were realistic and probably the best part of the movie. I don't feel as though I knew the characters and they weren't really developed. I wish that there were more buildup to the fight scenes, seeing that was the best part. They should have put more into the fighting aspect of it and the training. I only remember one short scene where Channing Tatum's character was actually prepping for a fight.
F B (br) wrote: watchable and had potential but overall it was quite predictable and the story was lame with a boring ending and no real depth. Not one I would want to see again.
