Iowa B (us) wrote: "Palindromes" is one of the most if not the most depressive movie I have seen so far and were it Solondz's debut I might have admired it more. But it is not. Todd Solondz has taken this path before and with greater results. This one has all it's predecessors' unpleasantness, but none of their energy. It is a dull and unrewarding film thatunderlines obvious aspects to justify its unpleasant tone. Maybe it is time he shifts gears and brings something new to the silver screen

Mitchel C (us) wrote: Brick possesses a delightfully mature script filled with witty banter and crisp neo-noir one liners but when push comes to shove there is still something lacking from the film I can't quite pin point. Perhaps the unrealistic high school setting is what bothers me about this film as the clever dialogue feels faked and scripted coming out of the mouths of "high schoolers". In the end though Brick boasts well scripted action with an engaging story and interesting protagonist but never completely hits the pleasure center.
