But "Eternity and a Day" seems like a study of such techniques, overly done, where the focus is shifted from the story to creating each and every scene with one camera that moves all the time. Eternity, after all. Self-indulgent.

The 'twin brother' story has so much potential (even to those who know that twins are readily distinguishable by anyone truly familiar or intimate) and this is all wasted in favour of stereotypical russians-in-NewYork intereacting with stereotyped NewYork cops while a not-so-dumb blonde satisfies her lust for the man she believes dead, improbably restored. So some audience male-fantasy is satisfied, and not much else.

Uneven, sometimes funny but rarely engaging, and never satisfying. At 88 minutes, it somehow manages to feel long. Bad HBO GO choice on my part.
