Kevin F (jp) wrote: The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya is one of the finest products of the Japanese animation industry. Despite only having 28 half-hour episodes of TV animation to fill its backstory, Disappearance uses it as a strength to create an excellent science-fiction tale laced with drama, suspense, romance and sorrow. Melancholic and pondering, the 164 minute running time is suited perfectly to this film, as every scene is given the utmost care and attention to detail each and every second. Those wondering what the "big deal" is with anime would do themselves a great disservice by skipping this film and its corresponding TV anime. It's a beautifully animated, wonderfully scored, perfectly written diamond of fiction that nobody should skip out on. And if subtitles aren't your thing, the English dub from Bandai Entertainment is a great way to experience this franchise for yourself. You will not regret a single moment.

Dane C (au) wrote: Finely acted, beautifully shot and just all-round extremely well made. It's quite slow at times and a little overly long, but overall it's a great Australian film and just a very underrated film in general.

He often supported important authors and musicans that were blacklisted an shuned by the moral standards of that time. He is an interesting and substaintal person in history.

Tyson P (br) wrote: the movie seems to have potential but just comes off as unorigonal.....thomas jane comes back as the punisher basically.....whole family slaughtered.....on revenge.....the burn victim seems to be doing a heath ledger joker impression and the dialogue is a cheeasier dick tracy.

Dylan D (it) wrote: Whatever and whoever are the real stars of Jeff, Who Lives at Home. The film champions the idea that there's order to randomness, but it's up to the individual to make the first connection and see fate through to conclusion. The film is expertly assembled and a pleasure to watch. It's easy on the eyes and mind, but that doesn't make it a thematic lightweight. On the contrary, this is a deep and involved movie, but it's deep and involved like few others, the picture easily intermixing casual cinema with dramatic heft. Jason Segel's performance is exceptional, and the supporting cast understands the movie's superficial qualities and nuance alike. It may be said that all of Jeff, Who Lives at Home's randomness is leading towards a perfect movie.
