Nick M (ca) wrote: This imported flick from Africa is basically a scaled down version of 'Scarface' with gasoline instead of cocaine. Though it's still a highly watchable example of Foreign exploitation-- even if the ending feels annoyingly rushed.

nichole I (ru) wrote: An okay movie, slow in some parts though.

Riley H (ru) wrote: I really didn't expect Godard to still have it late in life. He does. This film makes me want to know French, which is no small feat.

Erin S (it) wrote: Though I do like Independent movies, this isn't typically the type of movie I would choose to watch. I'm glad I chose to watch this one. Once I got over thinking of D'Onofrio as his L&O cop character, he was great in the role. Watching the 60s and 70s play out through the character's eyes was very interesting.

Kang R (it) wrote: Nice one from Stephen Chow. Every things just seems right but no the ending part.

Lucas Y (br) wrote: One of the most horrifying scenes I've ever seen in my life, but the rest of this movie lacks substance and it slows down TERRIBLY after the amazing opening.

Al M (gb) wrote: In Straight to Hell, Alex Cox (Repo Man and Sid and Nancy) takes us on a bizzaro trip that parodies spaghetti westerns. While no where near as sublimely strange and awesome as Repo Man, Straight to Hell is still a funny, witty, and insane deconstruction of western and crime dramas. Set in the present day, it follows an unlikely group of outlaws that includes The Clash's Joe Strummer and Courtney Love as they go into hiding ina small Western town. Along the way, a variety of celebrities make appearances: Grace Jones, Dennis Hopper, Jim Jarmusch, and Elivis Costello. And The Pogues provide all of the music for the film. The film never entirely makes sense, and Courney Love is almost as annoying as she is Sid and Nancy. Still, the film plays out with ample hilarity, brutality, and insanity. While Straight to Hell never does anything overly important, it is a film that should not be missed by indepdent cinema fans or people who enjoy postmodern pastiche. Indeed, Tarantino could learn a few lessons from Straight to Hell about how to make such films without coming across as too pretentious.

Josh S (us) wrote: This film complete trash. DON'T WATCH IT!!!!!

Spencer H (us) wrote: Next is a stupid, yet entertaining movie.

Steve R (fr) wrote: I enjoyed this movie. It's a breath of fresh air in the Staunch room of Hollywood as they continue to make and reboot every movie or show ever made.
