Justin M (mx) wrote: Its true. To be a fan of the Cubs is to be a fan of epic losers. A fun documentary about a ball club that hasn't won anything in 100 years, and yet their fan base grows bigger and bigger each season. These guys are what the "Bad News Bears" wannabe when they get older! It was fun to hear the stories of old about when the team was regarded as the best in the world but it did get a bit repetitive hearing random celebs talk about how majestic and wonderful it was to be at a Cubs game over and over again. Fan of sports? Do check!

Well, I don't really know what did, but there's a lot of empty space in this film that could have been filled with jokes. Grant is funny whenever he's mugging to the camera or acting befuddled, but Loy has hardly anything interesting to do and Shirley Temple is annoying (by virtue of her part in the movie) for almost the whole time she's on-screen. It was okay... at best.

Dan G (fr) wrote: Moments of very interesting direction, with a quirky mystery premise and sharp dialogue. A solid noir all around.

Christopher B (gb) wrote: Possibly the most classic of the Rogers-Astaire films. With the best songs too.

Peyton P (au) wrote: The excessive violence almost drowned out all signs of intelligence and thought provoking ideas this movie brought to the table. Keyword almost.
