When obscenely rich hedge-fund manager James is convicted of fraud and sentenced to a stretch in San Quentin, the judge gives him one month to get his affairs in order. Knowing that he won't survive more than a few minutes in prison on his own, James desperately turns to Darnell-- a black businessman who's never even had a parking ticket -- for help. As Darnell puts James through the wringer, both learn that they were wrong about many things, including each other.

(de) wrote: MTV's movie "Wasted" was a big waste of time. Geared toward the high schoolers who watch the channel, this movie was more like an anti-drug campaign than an actual movie dealing with teens and drugs. In this film, three friends find themselves on a self destructive ride. The girl, who is a drug addict, is trying to get clean. Her boyfriend, a drug addict, doesn't care about anything other than his own high. And then the jock, the clean one, who finds himself not understanding why his friends can't quit, so he tries it once, then twice, to addict. Of course, the movie would not be complete without one of the main characters dying in order to turn everyone else around. It isn't who you think, and well, it doesn't turn everyone else around. The movie leaves you with the generic message of "You can't change the world, only yourself."

(de) wrote: I enjoyed this film which is packed with many fine actors. I could be wrong, but I'm thinking the Gwyneth Paltrow character referred to as "Paula" might actually have been the legendary Tullulah Bankhead in real life (???). If you have any interest in the Algonquin Round Table or the formation of the New Yorker, I highly recommend you watch this. I especially recommend it for any Dorothy Parker fans.

(ru) wrote: As with Punch Drunk Love and Reign Over Me, Funny People brings the best of out of Adam Sandler while maintaining his sense of humor, and Judd Apatow has the right skills to pull off a winning comedy-drama. However, it's appeal wears off the moment it stears away from the main plot (about a man with a serious illness) in favor for the director to once again showcase his family.

It is also too long, has a ton of slow scenes, embarrassing moments, and only a few funny jokes. With that in mind, it's still a enjoyable Steven Spielberg film, even if it's pretty flawed.

(it) wrote: WORST FOUND FOOTAGE MOVIE EVER!!!!! Seriously. NOTHING HAPPENS. The end. Anyone that gives or gave this movie a good review either has something to gain by doing so or is A COMPLETE MORON! I must mention that the man and woman who portrayed the main actors did a phenomenal job with the awful script they were given. They are the only reason I was able to get through this absolute catastrophe of a "movie". Wasting people's time like this movie does should be illegal! If you want to watch a Bigfoot movie that actually has a Bigfoot in it watch Exists. Quadrillion times better in every way!
