Anna B (nl) wrote: Kind of ends up in a place that isn't very dramatically satisfying (annoying that Melody ends up with her stalker and nobody seems to think that's weird), but the journey is absolutely hilarious and I laughed from start to finish, especially at the antagonism between Clarkson and Larry David. While it's not his most strongly-developed story, in terms of comedy this is top-shelf Woody.

Spielberg's assassin thriller pits a Mossad/Israeli assassin group vs the PLO in retaliation for the Munich Olympic hostage and assassination events. I wonder if a film glorifying the Olympic murders and condemning these retaliatory assassinations would win an Oscar for Best Picture? This site is meant to be a critique of film and not a political soapbox (i.e. see Birth Of A Nation (1916) comments and reviews!). However, it is difficult to view this film impartially. Spielberg is privileged to have all of Hollywood as his soapbox to project his political beliefs.Munich's narrative is not easy to follow. The action moves quickly and the assassin group moves from one target to another in various countries. It is difficult not to sympathize with a protagonist in any film. However, in this film, the protagonists are organized murderers indirectly working for Israel. The film has a realistic feel and is well acted. It is a good movie, but certainly not a great one, unless you have a sensitive or cultural tie to the protagonist murder squad this film depicts. I personally don't, so I watched this film impartially and critique it as a film. If you're a fan of Spielberg, James Bond, tough-guy action-thrillers, you will enjoy this film.

Brad S (au) wrote: This is a pretty good little film-noir starring John Garfield which would end up being his last film as he was effectively black-listed for refusing to names names to the HUAC, and then died a year later at the young age of 39. The film looks great on DVD, it was shot by the legendary James Wong Howe who was a 2 time Oscar winner and 10 time nominee. Worth a watch for fans of the genre.

Tsukasa A (kr) wrote: Demi Moore and Rob lowe look very young and fresh. Demi was 24 and Rob was 22 when the romantic comedy was released. The movie is old fashioned in '80s style and brings a sense of nostalgia. At the time of release, according to Wikipedia, the movie had positive reviews that it deals fearlessly with real people instead of with special effects and the lead performances were especially praised. 'About Last Night' is remade in 2014 in which romance and comedy is smartly balanced. I believe comedy is stronger than one in 1986 as the age requires comedy even in romance. It may be fun to watch and compare the two movies having the same title.
