Jacob G (de) wrote: This is some funny $#!7 here. From the get-go the amazingly dichotomous opening scene immediately points out the ridiculously terrible acting contained within the movie. The dolls are rather terrifying, in their own equally ridiculously terrible way. You know a movie is totally ROFL-worthy when the audience suspects the actors of actually drinking the liquor and smoking the weed as shown in the movie. The premise is totally outrageous (Charles Band himself admits that one of the major plot points only came into fruition days before shooting began) and the only thing that ISN'T predictable is who dies. It is so, so terrible that it is a must-watch for any self-respecting non-serious ROFL-horror-schtick friend group.I personally hope there is a Blu Ray release so I can put it on my shelf next to my Doll Action Figures!

Dig B (ru) wrote: yes, what your seeing is real. its a silly film that made no sense. its more like a 40's Cartoon written by Walt Disney. i mean the story was lame! and why the heck is whoopi goldberg in this film? and the rex loves cookies. makes sense to me. i mean, winnie the pooh with honey, bugs bunny with a carrot, a blue hedgehog with chilli dogs (NC Reference) and a rex with cookies?

Mark W (fr) wrote: A very strong "Friday the 13th" vibe with this one, it even had the instantly recognisable music of Harry Manfredini... The story as a whole was very inconsistent and in all honesty quite predictable... However, I for one did not expect that particular ending, and it wasn't the greatest... Although the part that really struck me as odd was when a girl after getting covered in blood and guts decides it would be a great idea to go into the next room completeley strip off and have a bath in a manky old tub in a abandoned school... She wasn't asking for trouble right?
Jens S (jp) wrote: This wonderfully old-fashioned pirates film is like a message from a sunken era, where sword fights are still filmed in wide shots, not a hundred cuts a minute. The mood is light and with plenty of humor, a couple of stunts spectacular, the locations feel real and set a nice Caribbean atmosphere. Sure, some parts of the film are a bit bumpy and feel dated, but overall this is a fun adventure film for a rainy Sunday afternoon. The main title score is also one of the most beautiful themes ever written.
Kevin K (ru) wrote: This is so bad that its enjoyable in a Mystery Science Theater 3000 kind of way. Plus...I paid $1 for a DVD with it and three other bad sci-fi movies! Can't beat that deal.
Jules H (de) wrote: Open Season has plenty of heart warming moments and brisk, healthy animation. The film, however, does nothing to set it apart from the other Looney Tunes-esque works it blatently rips off resulting in wild unoriginality and pre mature, but funny, gags. All in all, it can still be a good film if those specific flaws can be ignored, which is not always an easy task.
