The Icelandic people was born of Norwegian immigrants who would not submit to the tyranny of the king of Norway and established a republican country in the Middle Ages, where social classes were virtually diluted and developed a subsistence economy. After centuries of freedom was first submitted by Norway and then by Denmark until World War II. Iceland has always had a libertarian spirit that is born of its history and of being a place with few inhabitants and always with a rebellious and disobedient spirit. . Ilsa W (gb) wrote: Terrible but at times so terrible it was actually very funny. Tyne acting was pretty awful but the two main college guys were hilarious at times. I got the feeling most of the cast were there to have a good laugh and it showed. It also made it surprisingly enjoyable!

Jacky W (au) wrote: The thing with this movie is it's kinda too dramatic.Hana's relationship with masashi seems so unrealistic that I started losing interest in the middle of the film. However this movie is far from unwatchable. I think the film is more about the relationship between hana and alice and about hana and alice's reaction towards masashi, their family and life. I was so touched with the scene where Alice's meeting her dad and saying "i love u" (in mandarin!!!) when they left. The Ballet scenes are just pure genius. They might not be the best ballet dancer in the world, in fact their moves are quite simple really but Shunji Iwai has managed to express the beauty of the dance so well. The last Ballet dance scene is the best dance scene I have ever seen in a movie. I think I would enjoy it even more after rewatching it again.
Adam M (jp) wrote: Crime horror/thriller from Italian gore daady Dario Argento. A serial killer persumed dead appears to be alive and killing again but things don't add up as people saw the killer get shot in the head. Detectives on the case seem baffled so enter a retired old detective who can't help but get involved, along with the son of one of the killers victims. This starts brilliantly with an action sequence on a train, which has as much tension as any of the shitty hollywood blockbusters of today. There's also the grisly, almost exploitation style murders and gore on offer, a cool twist ending and the usual great soundtrack from Goblin. For people unfamiliar with Argento, you can expect some dodgy acting and editing and the occassional questionable accent. But you can also expect great gore and some interesting twists and turns and direction along with some cool music. Overall, Sleepless is a well crafted horror movie for horror movie fans.

Tyrone H (ca) wrote: A highly stylised (probably too stylised) remake of the Kurosawa classic Rashomon. The western genre seems to almost perfectly swap the Japan of the Kurosawa films. This remake almost works but certainly doesn't reach the highs of the Japanese classic. There is a strong cast working with excellent material, the perception of 'Truth' and the two side of human nature, good and evil, and the space in which most of us exist, if we are honest, somewhere in between. The standout performances are the three characters who narrate the story and provide the good V.s Bad, inbetween, perspectives. Edward G Robinson is excellent as the key characters who prods and pokes the other two also waiting for the train into revealing the story of a horrendous rape and robbery. The story is told from 4 different perspective, weather they are lies or just induividuals perception of what happens. The protaganests motives are revealed and finally a true telling emerges which seems to do no service to all involved. Bill 'The Shat' Shatner is at his intense overacting best here as the preacher whose faith is shatered by the actions of men and women but also rebuilt by the action of those same beasts. Worth the watch but make sure that you watch Rashamon and also explore the rest of Kurosawa's films as he really is a true genius director.

Nikky A (es) wrote: The acting and cinematography were really well done. There were some great battle scenes. I liked that the script doesn't choose sides and it portrays the emotion, strategy, mistakes, challenges and victories of both the English and the French equally. Great flick!
Jayakrishnan R (mx) wrote: Saw this on 27/10/14I prefer to watch porn movies instead of pornography because watching the hardcore stuff seems boring because of the lack of emotional content. The sex scenes of the movie are erotic and it's nothing like the critics claim it to be. It's story, of course, there's none, every 10 minutes, they show a song performed by some band and after that it's just plain sex, also once in every 15 minutes, a footage of Antarctica will be shown. Porn is made as an excuse of a movie and if u wish to simply watch porn, then you can watch this.
