SV G (ru) wrote: "In no part of the Constitution is more wisdom to be found, than in the clause which confides the question of war or peace to the legislature, and not to the executive department." ~ James Madison The movie opens on that quote and features a young man named Thomas Young who was injured on his 5th day in Iraq. He comes home with a spinal-chord injury. His daily life and struggles there-in caused by the damage the war had done to his body are highlighted to emphasis why this had to happen. I'm going to quote my own favorite movie critic here on this: ""Body of War" again demonstrates that we Americans still have some bitter truths to face. Not only was 9/11 a day that will live in infamy, but our mistakes nearly every day since then have perpetuated and compounded the darkness." ~ Robert Ebert

Emily A (us) wrote: If it weren't for Chris Pine's natural charm, this movie probably wouldn't have been half as good. I'm not usually a fan of romantic comedies, but I found that I really liked this one, for its main character as well as those around him. I really sympathized with Danny's desire to be independant and find love, and his blindness wasn't so much a physical handicap for him as it was a social handicap that influenced other people's treatment of him. There is also a parallel storyline of Danny volunteering to undergo experimental surgery that could potentiall grant him limited vision, but it takes a backseat to the romance story. The humour in this one is genuinely funny without being mean-spirited, and he ending, while unorthodox is both happy and satusfying.

Ed Fucking H (au) wrote: With a title like Planet of the Vampires how could I not love this midnite classic from Mario Bava. A crew of space explorers, in nifty leather outfits, arrive on a mysterious, fog filled planet and members of the crew begin to act strangely. What follows is a fight to the death for the very future of the human race. The vampires of the title aren't really vampires at all but rather body snatchers who exist as a particle (or something like that) until they posses a human host/body. The ending was pure dopeness. Not to be missed by those who go for this kinda thing (like me!)
