Guimo P (fr) wrote: The Cut is beautifully designed and shot, whether it is in the desert, on the Atlantic Oceans or in the American plains. Its title may be a metaphorical representation of the hero's separation from his family, his journey to a foreign land, or his breaking away from the past, but its satiated narrative is only partially engrossing, heart-warming and satisfying. It may be well-meaning and genuine, a courageous and laudable gesture from Akin, but it fails to leave an impressive and evocative register.
Alex M (us) wrote: This isn't a biopic about Marilyn Monroe's whole life; instead, it mainly focuses on the time she filmed the movie The Prince And The Showgirl with Laurence Olivier. However, Michelle Williams and Kenneth Branagh make it look like as if Marilyn Monroe and Laurence Olivier have been resurrected from the dead, as both of them capture their mannerisms perfectly. Eddie Redmayne is also great as Colin Clark, the production assistant who befriends Marilyn Monroe and whose book formed the basis for this film, and so is Judi Dench as Sybil Thorndike, a legendary British stage actress who costars with Monroe and The Prince And The Showgirl and protects her during her clashes with Olivier. It's a must-watch for any Marilyn Monroe fan, and is full proof that Michelle Williams has had one of the best post-Dawson's Creek careers of any of her castmates from that show, as this film resulted in her third Oscar nomination. 9/10.

Harrison F (jp) wrote: When I first heard of this, I wasn't really that interested. After watching a trailer of it, I was right to avoid it. Apparently, the monsters spend more time going after the people than each other. From what I've seen around the internet (trailers and pictures, the Hunter doesn't look that good. The Alien itself isn't really any better, and looks shite compared to the original horror icon it's based on. Whether you've seen this one or not, do us all a favour: ignore what the box says about this being great, and stick to the REAL Aliens VS Predator

Dave J (br) wrote: Monday, March 7, 2011 (1975) Mandingo DRAMA Somewhat of a pointless adaption of a novel written by Kyle Onstott centering on an African American boxer which to me serves as a backdrop upon everything else that was going on throughout this film! The time which takes place, right after the Civil War whereas the fighting was already been done and over with, but the degregation of African Americans living in the deep South were still allowed to continue! Music credited to actual African American blues artist Muddy Waters for some unknown bizarre reason! 2 out of 4

Justin B (br) wrote: There was effort put into it, I'll give it that: and there are a few laughs but it's still one of Ferrell's weakest films. He seems to shine only under the direction of Adam Mckay

Karl H (jp) wrote: Saw it, liked it. Hanks delivers a formula of success. I hate to say that you almost expect it but I do. If anything the movie falls short because it feels like Hanks playing the Professor, Lt, Private Eye of his past successes. Nothing out of the box like Forest or Wilsons best friend.
