Teddy Duncan's middle-class family embarks on a plane flight from their Denver home to visit Mrs. Duncan's parents, the Blankenhoopers, in Palm Springs - all except daughter Teddy and mother Amy, for whom a cross country odyssey begins when a chance at free plane fare leads to a curtailed bus ride, a nightmarish experience in a Yugo, hitchhiking with a pair of alien abductees, and peddling through the desert on a tandem bike. William M (es) wrote: Interesting movie about the interactions of 3 girls, although mostly centered around the character of Marie. Marie starts off as friends with Anne, who is in a synchronized swimming class. Although it looks like Marie can also swim, she is not in any classes. While at a demonstration of the different groups at a swimming pool location, Marie sees Floriane, who is the captain of the junior squad of synchronized swimmers, and she appears to take a liking to her. After that, we see how Marie tries to get close to Floriane and we see how Floriane acts and behaves. She's definitely a heartbreaker that one.I believe the dvd cover said this movie is like a cross between Lolita and another movie, so enjoy it as it is. Although too, the movie is in French but it also has English subtitles to follow along.

Damon R (us) wrote: There was no happy ending to this movie, just like there was no happy ending to what really happened at Rosewood, Florida. It was a disaster and it was traumatic. The historic massacre was displayed very graphically and realistically. I really enjoyed the performances and director John Singleton really outdid himself with this part of African-American history that should never be forgotten.

Mikael H (de) wrote: This movie has a series of very interesting traits, the not least important being the absence of modern language use. Not one word spoken on the screen (and they are not many) is uttered in any language intelligeble to contemporary ears. It really challenges the viewer to think about what life must have been like before language was developed. Aside from some seeming anachronisms that feel a bit jarring, the film manages to maintain this pre-historice tone throughout the narrative. Very interesting project.
