(ca) wrote: It was an okay, but I might have to go back and watch it again. It was little unclear, and the camera jerked around a bit too much too really get any of the war scenes. But Act of Valour is a energetic, thrilling and especially towards the end, and emotional and heartfelt movie.

(us) wrote: One of the worst musicals ever made. This movie makes "The Apple" look like "Singing in the Rain". The popular musical this movie is based upon was fun and entertaining. The main reason why is because it did not take itself seriously and talented actors were cast in the respective roles. However this movie is just the opposite of that. The movie tries to be serious instead of fun and none of the actors can sing. The biggest liability is the horribly miscast Pierce Brosnan. Listening to him try to sing is excruciating. Well deserving of the Golden Raspberry Award (aka Razzie) for Worst Supporting Actor. None of the cast can sing. Watching attempt to do so is torture. If this is not bad enough Stellan Skarsgard gives us probably the most embarrassing (Not to mention completely unnecessary.) nude scene since the late Walter Matthau in "Grumpy Old Men". Do yourself a favor and instead just listen to an ABBA greatest hits album instead of wasting your time with this terrible movie.

(ag) wrote: I stumbled upon this while looking through the now outdated "Fangoria: Best Horror You've Never Seen" book. I found it and boy was I surprised. This is probably one of the most impossibly genreless movies I've ever come across. It seems to commonly be considered "horror' by those who've seen it, but it's not conventional at all, although it covers a well-loved horror topic (hint: you've seen it most often in movies that have "Chainsaw" in the title). It's also considered a comedy because there's a strand of pitch black comedy running through it, but it's not a side-splitting, roll-down-the=aisles comedy. It takes place during the Mexican-American War so it's got some war stuff, but not enough to classify it as one. Whatever it is you won't see anything else like it anywhere.

(mx) wrote: This was one of the most boring 'action' flicks I've ever seen, even Fred Williamson couldn't save it from yawns and obscurity.Oh, and FYI, that cover image of a flaming city and all that other shit has nothing to do with the films itself, so don't get your hopes up.Pass, unless your morbid curiosity gets the better of you.
