(es) wrote: If you look at it as a debut outing or a student film it isn't horrible, but still not too funny. The whole time I knew that Broken Lizard is better than this so I kept expecting more. But as it stands it still had some moments that were funny and as a pseudo-romantic comedy it was alright. In actuality, it's kind of a rom-com for guys, but whatever.

(fr) wrote: This film was the perfect example of a fascinating concept completely blitzed by horrible direction. I have heard that Vincente Minnelli went senile in his later years and this sloppy joe movie seemingly backs this up. Yves Montond and Barbra's alter ego have NO chemistry, which is easily blamed on the fact that they never once share the screen not to mention the musical numbers are bland. Everytime the narrative starts to drag (which is often) Minnelli throws in a tacky gimmick to zest things up. Still, the concept was interesting enough to warrant a remake.

(ru) wrote: i don't really have high hope for this movie at the first place. I, basically, watch it for Clemence Poesy. But man, it's good. It brings upon us the harsh reality about marriage and family, something i believe everybody can relate to. Michael Caine shows us why he is a two-time Oscar winner. And one more thing, Paris looks amazing through the lens, beautiful. Overall, this movie has its own flaws, but to me, it got outweighed by the goods. I find myself more than satisfied when it all said and done.
