Thomas (ca) wrote: This is an intriguing story of different people with different connections to the movie's theme. With great cinematography.Personally, I think there are too many stories being told at the same time, with too little in common. I was having problem seeing how they connected until the last minute, and that punchline wasn't powerful enough for me.

Mariano C (nl) wrote: I liked it more when I was younger, but compared to the canon macross series I just don't like it as much. though it makes a stand alone piece. Haven't watched it in japanese, but the english dub was irritating to say the least. at the very least, it had one of the baddest valkyries ever, 'cept Basara's VF-19 from macross 7, but thats a different kind of awesome

Ilsa L (jp) wrote: This could have been a 5 star movie. The plot is full of twists and turns and the script is top notch. Robert Montgomery, however, does not make a believable Philip Marlowe and his direction also leaves a lot to be desired. It's almost as if Montgomery is reading the script and the audience seeing the story through Marlowe's eyes doesn't really work well here .Audrey Totter is good as Adrienne but this is not her finest hour either. Imagine if this movie had been made by an experienced director and Bogart, Mitchum or Dick Powell were Marlowe! Oh well, a girl can dream, can't she?
