Adrian F (jp) wrote: 2001 maniacs: field of screams is a sequel to an already crappy original film. there are plenty of blood, guts, boobs, and trashy southern jokes to go around. it is disturbing at times but not to bad. i definitely do not recommend this movie to anyone, its a waste of film.

Joseph C (it) wrote: Possibly one of the best 4/5 of a movie I've ever seen...and then it ended. I would say, "spoiler alert", but there's nothing to spoil. There's no resolution. Yes, I get the spiritual journey of the sheriff. That's all good. But the main character was as interesting as could be...and then he wasn't. Such a frustrating movie. If you're like me, and have heard that this is a great movie, it is, for about an hour and a half. Then it plunges into an abyss of arbitrary nonsense. I have read a few explanations that get pretty far into the weeds, as far as I'm concerned. If filmmakers are aiming that high, they are going to miss me every time. Watch Hell or High Water instead. It knows how to finish.
Jorge M (us) wrote: An interesting if slow dissection of Ernesto "Che" Guevara personality traits. His motivations, his passion, his vision of Latin America and his desire to forge a true Latin American independence from all kinds of empires is shown on this picture. Nonetheless, the movie feels too small and too disperse for it to make a difference and truly portray the complex nature of this revolutionary icon in world history. Sonia Braga's performance is too little, too late. Skip it.
Andrew L (gb) wrote: Unfortunately, the decision to keep Chris Columbus as director results in an almost step-by-step copy of the first film, which ultimately makes this a very boring instalment in the series despite the presence of a giant killer serpent. The acting is not the only area in which this film resembles cardboard - the script, the dialogue, the set pieces (which lack imagination needed to further develop from the first film). Despite wonderfully hammed-up turns from new additions Isaacs & Branagh, it's Dobby the house elf that stands out - but for all the wrong reasons. He's more Jar-Jar Binks than Gollum, & left me entertaining psychotic tendencies towards him & his creators long after the film had finished due to his excessively annoying nature.

Jonathan B (it) wrote: Guy Hamilton's workman-like direction makes this a solid enough World War II movie. Robert Shaw and Harrison Ford lead a small band of Allied troops behind enemy lines to blow up a bridge in the Balkans. Their mission is made harder by the fact that the group is infiltrated by a Nazi agent who does his best to thwart the plan. There's a solid cast including Edward Fox and Barbara Bach and some tense action sequences as the gang plant bombs and attempt to evade discovery. These 1970s war movies have a feel of that era which, for me, always makes them a little wooden and stagy but they are perfect afternoon viewing and they're the sort of film that you mum would like....assuming your mum is of that sort of age. It's a no frills couple of hours with enough action to hold the interest and keep the viewer entertained.

Blake B (mx) wrote: One of the worst of the direct-to-DVD Seagal vehicles of the new millennium. It's hard, even for me (a proud Seagal fan, at least of his earlier work) to watch this steaming pile of...stuff that's supposed to pass for a movie.

Danielle B (au) wrote: A controversial film when it first came out but the sad part is that, this film has a lot of truth about the society we live in ( even though the film was made in 1958). Of course, I am not sure whether the ending is truly possible. Think of anyone women who were groomed to go to the "right schools" so that they can meet the "right" husbands. They marry into affluent families or extremely successful men but they're extremely lonely. Constantly worrying that their husband will leave them for a younger women. Acting & pretending to be happy in a small, pretentious, gossipy high-society.
