Jayakrishnan R (br) wrote: 86%Saw this on 5/4/16It starts off rather slow and seems to place familiar plot elements, but thanks to a talented cast and some terrific slapstick, death at a funeral manages to be better than the sum of its parts. This is what makes one really laugh out loud, not the stupid self indulgent and self righteous films from America that bear the name of comedy.

Rick Q (br) wrote: "margot at the wedding" is noah baumbach doing what he does best. rather than following a complete story, we're following characters for a brief period of time. it's entirely well written, uncomfortably awkward, yet hilarious. plus there are amazing performances from nicole kidman, jennifer jason leigh and jack black.

Wes S (br) wrote: Somewhat decent, and yet very lacking. Perkin's role is alright, but probably not one of his more memorable ones. The story is alright as a mystery, but there's a lot of holes and confusing moments. The main character's blindness remains in question to me (how was he reading that letter at the end?) and a lot of the bigger plot points seem wasted.

Art S (gb) wrote: This early giallo from Mario Bava is, as advertised, full of stunning set-pieces with candy-colored lighting, creative sets and camerawork -- but the misogyny and violence were too much for me (it's no wonder I've been skipping most slasher/horror films). You can see where Dario Argento found inspiration, but the plot here is wafer-thin (even with a couple of twists). Black Sunday and Black Sabbath are both better.

Joseph C (gb) wrote: Possibly one of the best 4/5 of a movie I've ever seen...and then it ended. I would say, "spoiler alert", but there's nothing to spoil. There's no resolution. Yes, I get the spiritual journey of the sheriff. That's all good. But the main character was as interesting as could be...and then he wasn't. Such a frustrating movie. If you're like me, and have heard that this is a great movie, it is, for about an hour and a half. Then it plunges into an abyss of arbitrary nonsense. I have read a few explanations that get pretty far into the weeds, as far as I'm concerned. If filmmakers are aiming that high, they are going to miss me every time. Watch Hell or High Water instead. It knows how to finish.
