The film focuses on war reporter Thomas Anders (played by Rupert Friend, whom I didn't recognize from anything else), who did his best to get important and damning footage out to the rest of the world. While this wasn't the best war-scenario movie I've seen, I found myself deeply feeling for the victims. I just hope I don't have nightmares tonight. War is Hell, folks.
(mx) wrote: Underutilising its ensemble cast, Movie 43 has some laughs (The skits with Robin speed-dating and Anna Faris wanting Chris Pratt to poop on her are the skits that actually work) but is ultimately not a good movie. The UK version has an occasionally clever way to connect the skits together but ultimately this film is a piece of crap. The jokes are so offensive they're disturbing (at least Kate Winslet displayed self-awareness of Hugh Jackman's creepy testicle-chin), the scripts are bad, the humour will make you groan and facepalm and the stories that revolve around each skit are offensive, implausible and unoriginal. How does one put tons of talented actors in one movie and not know what to do with them? Huh? One of the worst, if not THE worst, movies of 2013.
(kr) wrote: it has been done better but the cast makes the movie worth a watch. Mindless action but I liked it.
(au) wrote: I had doubts before watching it, but it turns out to be surprisingly good. Benny Chan, the director, cleverly utilized the crowded environment as backdrop; plus some local, daily scenario interweaving this can-be so typical, cliched story. Too bad the ending is dragging to long & twisting too much.

(ag) wrote: at first I didn't think I would like it, but the very insightful character studies drew me in. Wow, talk about worlds colliding. and the subtlety with which the director leads the viewer, especially around developing understanding of relationships, is well done.
(de) wrote: Working Gil has it's moments and good performances from Melanie Griffith and Sigourney Weaver, but the film feels dated due to obvious reasons, but also a fairly thin plot. Still it has it moment in the time capsule to merit a viewing.
(us) wrote: Very good animated film. Shows the progresion of music from the early 1900s up to the 1980s through the eyes of four generations of a Russian Jewish family, and it captures the evelution of music in America very well.

(br) wrote: Very good ending. Pretty interesting movie all around. Very sad. Glad I watched it.
