Kyle M (fr) wrote: This charming sequel to a great animated film of Disney almost has the same heart with some dullish blandness and silly stuff, but it's almost as good as "The Lion King II: Simba's Pride." (B+)(Full review coming soon)
Evan K (mx) wrote: Better than some Full Moon Productions this is still less climatic. It talkes too much, knowing they didn't have a budget for all the needed effects, becasue the end was dissapointing. I did love it though, I think it is deliberitly corney and mixes childishness with grown-up childishness.

Mike L (de) wrote: Known for the dance sequence between Gene Kelly and Jerry mouse, a cartoon character, as one of the first movies to combine live-action with animation. As the title suggests it's a movie about a couple of guys on leave from their Navy ship in Los Angles around WWII. In many respects it serves as a recruitment skit for the Navy and lacks any real basis of a story, well the minimal plot of a guy trying to get a girl. It does get you to hear Frank Sinatra sing and see Gene Kelly dance, two icons in America entertainment so it cant be all bad despite a fairly formulaic story. The Mexican influence was ahead of its time and lifts this film above its vanilla contemporaries. Katherine Grayson is a vision and her voice is stunning. Sinatra plays a young naive sailor who looks up to Kelly for advice about girls. The two find Grayson's young cousin, who wants to be a sailor, and when they see Grayson, Sinatra falls for her and Kelly plays the worldly sailor who initially is disinterested in her and eventually falls for her. It starts out slow and picks up steam to become a very enjoyable movie.
