Jenna G (ca) wrote: For such an unbelievable true story, this is such a lousy film. There just didn't feel like there was a whole lot to make a movie on. Yes, I think everyone knows of Sully's heroism, but for me, it just seemed like the ultimate Oscar bait film = Eastwood. Hanks. Real life hero. Should've been so much better. The last 25 mins. were great, but everything else was a disappointment for me. Also, I felt like I saw a better version of this movie called 'Flight'.

Gerard M (mx) wrote: This was the first movie project I ever contributed to on Kickstarter. I know the animation sucks (no offense, animators) and the scenario and dialogue sometimes dosen't make sense to me. But still, there's much comedy in there that I totally recommend!

Mikael H (gb) wrote: Very interesting film-project. It only has three speaking roles, but one of those is strictly voice-overs, and I'd say this is the strongest performance of both Rutger Hauer and Michael York for, well, decades, as limited as those roles are. But mostly, this film places the viewer inside a painting. Indeed, it's more a collection of re-enactment scenes of the everyday lives of early 16th century Low Countries, than an coherent narrative in the traditional sense of the word. Between the first lines opening the film, and the next line, it's a long, long time, with mostly silent everyday work. That takes some getting used to. At the end of the day, it's really the stunning photography that carries the project - every frame is very beautifully shot, and so far from the typical Hollywood blockbuster fast-food-conveyor-belt movie making.

Lyndsay P (us) wrote: Brutally hard to watch. On one hand I appreciate Morris attempting to illustrate how the photographs can be a distraction from the bigger picture but on the other hand I wonder how these men or their families would appreciate such a film showing the pictures and immortalizing their suffering for everyone to see.

A B (jp) wrote: Not what I was expecting. Reviews make it sound as though the ending is utterly shocking and terrifying, some said it's the scariest ending they'd ever seen. I was monumentally underwhelmed when I finally saw it. The plot, acting, and build up of suspense are fine, but not wonderful. It held my attention and the central mystery is actually pretty gripping and smart. The film never really picks up the pace or becomes as intense as it should have. My imagination was racing with thoughts of terror and cruelty along the lines of The Silence of the Lambs (a far superior film in terms of horror and building tension), but instead I was severely let down by the lackluster, disappointingly un-clever final reveal. If you want decent suspense and an admittedly unique story that doesn't fall into any cliches whatsoever, go ahead and watch this movie. If you're looking for horror, thrills, or a final act that packs a punch, look elsewhere.

Vg L (us) wrote: Larry Parks is brilliant as Jolson. If you love the songs you will love this and The Jolson Story. Yes compared to todays films it is sentimentalised but Larry Parks performance is so stunning and charismatic it makes the film very watchable.

Art S (es) wrote: The 12th outing for Warner Oland as the veteran sleuth from Honolulu. Incredibly, the film starts (here) at the Melbourne Cup with a jockey throwing a race while riding the favourite. From there, it moves to Hawaii and then onward to Los Angeles, picking up murder and intrigue along the way. The plot is a little more complex than usual and (some racist comedy aside, if you can put it aside) that makes this a more enjoyable puzzler. You can't guess who did it, but you can maintain the illusion that you could have.

Matthew M (jp) wrote: As much as it went too personal than "Like Crazy", "In Breathe" is beautifully done with an unfaithful story. For me Mackenzie Davis is the hilight for the film.

James O (mx) wrote: Although by todays' standards ( 2017) the special effects show their age, it's still a feel good movie.
