(au) wrote: Characters are thoroughly unlikeable, and difficult to identify with. The best part of the movie is the secondary characters who get very little screen time.
(fr) wrote: A ridiculous movie. It starts out in what appears to be Afghanistan but evolves into what is clearly a northern European forest where people are speaking Polish, an area that has nothing to do culturally with Afghanistan .
(ca) wrote: Highly informative, easy to digest and refuses to play the partisan blame game, which sets it apart from other political documentaries of the past decade. I also really liked how alarming it was without being alarmist.
(kr) wrote: An absolutely ridiculous movie with an even more ridiculous premise - but it does well with stretching a one-joke plot into a 90 minute movie that doesn't drag too often. "Adventures of Power" is an indie film that boasts a strong cast for such a strange subject. McKean and Lynch are masters of farce (it was more strange seeing Lynch in "Julie & Julia" than it was to see her in this film), and the interaction between Gold and Stern was affectionate and believable.

(es) wrote: The film had a hard to follow story in it and a useless backstory that was hard to understand and tie into the plot. Also there were some continuity errors and lack if explanations. Overall I did like it because it's hard not to like something with Johnny Depp in it.
(br) wrote: David O. Russells second film is a story about an adopted man in search for his biological parents follower by a wife, baby and a fussy adoption office case worker. Pretty screwballish comedy from the 90's which has its moments but is a bit dated. Worth checking out though.
(gb) wrote: Though not the best film from Truffaut, The Man Who Loved Women is quite an entertaining film as it portrays a man looking for love as he writes the story of his past love lives.
(ag) wrote: It's a good thing this movie doesn't try to take itself seriously, because if it did, it would be a huge train wreck. It's still a far cry from cinematic genius, but if you're in the mood for a light, borderline stupid comedy, this will probably do the trick.
(mx) wrote: I really enjoyed this and am not sure why it's rated so low. I liked it almost as much as Underworld... a unique take on Frankenstein.
