Matthew K (ru) wrote: in all honesty. saw 1 and its sequels are actually very very different. it's like the difference between Resident Evil 1 and The Evil Within, it gets the pacing just right and only uses gore when nessecary, and even then is in good moderation. the sequels, like the Evil Within, just assumes that a dark filter and lots of blood makes something scary. Saw is a good film, despite its at times shaky acting and Doctor Gordon's conflicting accent. if you want a good film to watch over halloween, this is just the film for you

Steve W (gb) wrote: This is one the best action movies I've ever seen. I dare call it a classic of the genre. O is the number one hitman. Tok is an up an coming assassin, albeit a bit showy and excessive. Both of them have an intense rivalry and a love triangle with a simple video store clerk, as well a being stalked by a hardboiled inspector. With action set pieces that rival any other movie, as well as existential themes and sweeping camera work, Fulltime Killer is a fantastic action movie. It also holds its own as a film, and competes with cinema as a whole.

It's one of my favorites too, and one that I hadn't seen in over a decade since it first started airing on HBO. I just recenly saw it and fell in love with it all over again. Sure a lot of the jokes aren't funny, and yes they're pretty cliche'd at times too, but damn is the movie enjoyable. It's a bit of a mish-mash of different horror movies. Most notably Psycho and The Silence of the Lambs, but it also takes a stab at Mel Brooks... literally. There are also cameos by Joe Dante, John Landis and John Carpenter that pop up here and there, basically sealing the deal for me. I'm sad that Ezio Greggio didn't have immediate success with the movie and was allowed to make more of these types of movies. He's pretty good at it. Even if they're not perfect, they're far better than anything that the Wayans brothers and Jason Friedberg & Aaron Seltzer ever put out. Trust me on this.

Buck T (ca) wrote: It's okay. It's got some great moments, but the majority of it is just filler. Great animation though, just weak story.

Scott W (mx) wrote: Well this was a weird movie though I guess that isn't surprising coming from Lynch. Overall it was just too strange but it did have it's moments. Willem Dafoe plays an absolute creep and it's one of his best performances. Some really interesting stylistic choices in here as well.

Evelyn P (au) wrote: I think this is the first Woody Allen movie that I've seen. It was so heuristic and profound that I was shocked and sank in thought after watching it. Both the leading actor and leading actress performed perfectly, especially the former one, who acted amazingly as a wicked diplomatic hot young man eager to vanity. The scene that he tried to kill Lola and the one that his subconscious confessed to himself in late night were remarkable. This reminds me of a book named An American Tragedy. The main difference between the book and the movie is that the main character in the movie ended up feeling guilty and full of sins for the rest of his life, while the one in the book ended up dead. The movie successfully demonstrates the phenomenon that some people in the society are insane for fame and money that they eventually become lowlifes and lose themselves. This is a brilliant movie and everyone should see Woody's masterpieces.

Rob B (us) wrote: A science fiction movie that is kind of a 1960s version of "The Martian" without trying much for the cience part of things. Well written with an engaging plot, dated dialog that sounds very 50s, and overall emotionally satisfying. Holds up pretty well if you close your eyes to the attempted graphics.
