(mx) wrote: I adored this when it was first released and I adore it even more now. Jack Burton is the balls and Carpenter's Pork Chop Express is one of my favourites of his. The perfect mix of comedy, fantasy and action.

(br) wrote: One of the best Samurai films ever made, and a biting indictment of Japanese feudal (and pre-World War) culture. There are images in this film that will stay with you forever.
(jp) wrote: A routine film noir enlivened by the performances of Robert Mitchum and Claude Rains but hamstrung by an ending that is too silly for words.
(ag) wrote: Darkly funny, brilliantly irreverent and beneath it all charming to a fault, Bad Teacher takes the simple concept of teaching to an unrestrained level of raunchy but feel-good fun, and it benefits from incredibly enjoyable performances from an esteemed supporting cast, but triumphs due to the charmingly witty Cameron Diaz in irresistible form.
(ru) wrote: After watching it four times it's boring
(es) wrote: A surprising film in that it has so many stars (& future stars) yet plays out more like a docu-drama than a Hollywood film. Excellent cinematography, lighting, and a strong script with minimal editing allows for the viewer to think through the implications of each scene and reach conclusions just as the main characters do. Life, damaged as it may become, does continue on and can make victims of all who are touched by tragedy.
