(fr) wrote: Certainly an interesting movie, a fascinating "what if" -- but I feel that while the movie does a pretty good job of showing Hitler as a human being, it almost makes him a little TOO sympathetic. While it was a topic I was certainly interested in exploring, I was left a tad disappointed.

Makes those of us who don't necessarily look like supermodels feel as if there may actually be something special about us. Lily Taylor's character is awesome and she plays the role extremely well. Guy Pearce is superb, as always. A movie that makes you think it's going to make you sad, but an unexpected (but hoped for) twist at the end makes things right with the world once more.

Great dialogue, good action scenes, fantastic acting by Sunny Doel and Ashish Vidyarthi and who can forget the great work done by Raj Babbar as Jindal? Some really great songs and dance sequences too, Mera Dil Le Gayi Oye was just great. =D And the best takeaway from the movie is the awesome music that plays when Sunny Deol gives that threatening look to anyone. It's fit to be in any top class movie in the world really. =DHere are a few of my favorite lines from the movie."JINDAL! APNE KUTTO KO SAMJHA DE.""HOSH MEIN TO HO DEVA!" (And Raj Babbar's eyes almost pop out)And of course, "APNI AANKHEN KHOL KE DEKH TU KAHAN AUR KISKE SAAMNE KHADA HAI. YAHAN BAAT SIRF EK BAAR SAMJHAI JAATI HAI BAS."

(fr) wrote: The greatest thing about Cameron Crowe's Say Anything is the way it tells a story without devolving into tropes of the teen dramedy subgenre. Here is a film that never needs characters to develop in unrealistic ways to progress the plot: Crowe completely understands that it's an unnecessary way of storytelling. Instead, these characters interact and grow in a completely normal way, and it's really refreshing. John Cusack's Lloyd Dobler and Ione Skye's Diane Court are essentially polar opposites at the beginning of the film, but their relationship blossoms in a way that is adorable without being sickeningly so. Lloyd is a bit of an underachiever, but one with a good heart, and Diane is the valedictorian who learns to take things at a new pace, and the relationship just works. It helps that Cusack and Skye have strong chemistry, and really work well together onscreen. Crowe essentially followed the footsteps of John Hughes with Say Anything, and created a solid movie in the process.
