Dee B (kr) wrote: It's like one of those movies that aren't straight forward but is very haunting. The twist at the end left you completely confused and kind of irritated that it was the ending. But hey, naked Shailene Woodlley and the provocative nature of the movie made it sort of worth it.

Robert F (ag) wrote: Consences: While it may be well animated and nostalgia factor it suffers from a creepy brother sister incest , familiar story and little bit short running time

Cin A (br) wrote: If you're a fan of Irish dance or just interested this is a must see. A good story line and introduction into this growing competitive phenomena.

Leonardo N (au) wrote: Lo nico realmente interesante de la pelcula es el retrato de parte de la guerra civil espaola, de resto es un homenaje sin mucho sentido al opus dei con tantos agujeros en la historia que pudieran colar espaguetis.

MF J (au) wrote: Guillermo Del Toro directs this fantastic story about cockroaches genetically modified for a specific reason & evolving & mutating into something they were not supposed to. The film is really well shot for sure and directed by a master so it looks pretty good & turns out to be quite good actually.

Stefan G (br) wrote: The inspiration for various cheesy "fantastic voyage" plots commonly found in TV shows, this film didn't intend to be overtly camp. In fact, with its Cold War overtones, the film itself was pretty serious, or so it was trying to be, but with a premise that asks you to suspend your disbelief as heavily as it does, I can't exactly take it as seriously as the film-makers may have intended some five decades ago. The main problem is that the film feels quite outdated, at least by my standards, and I say this mainly because the characters and dialogue felt overly familiar. It wasn't really fresh, but that's not to say it was a bad film. At the very least the film's concept was original, and despite everything else having aged pretty badly, the visual effects seem to have held up quite well. Nowadays, it's essentially a B-movie in shiny dressing, but for the time, it was quite original, and it does have its moments. If only a decade of TV didn't ruin it for me.

Robert G (jp) wrote: This really was not my kind of movie. It is the first and only movie to be directed by Steven Spielberg that I didn't like, so far anyway. Which is surprising, considering all of the great directors the were behind the scenes of this one. Robert Zemeckis, Bob Gale, John Milus, allegedly Brian DaPalma (uncredited) and of course the director Steven Spielberg. Perhaps the reason that I didn't like it was I was not thinking it was going to be so much of a slapstick comedy. Which is mainly what it is. I believe that this was somewhat of a box office success but it just can't/couldn't live up to his previous successes such as Duel, Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind or The Sugarland Express. I will have to give it another chance, eventually.
