Sean E (ca) wrote: The drama in this film is at the right level. A great story; well told.

Erin C (ag) wrote: SO bad. The acting was terrible - I'm not sure if Billy Zane is always that bad of an actor or if it was this role. However, I didn't see the twist at the end coming, so that was a surprise.

David E (de) wrote: Winner of the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay & nominated for 4 others including Best Picture, "M*A*S*H" introduced America a film (& eventual, successful TV series) about a dark humor tale of doctors & nurses stationed in Korea during the Korean War. The acting was quirky & eccentric; the story was a good mix of comedy & even drama (the surgery scenes); & the direction by Robert Altman (nominated for Best Director) was bold & great for its time. "M*A*S*H" truly is one of the best films of the 1970s & of all time - a real treat!

David B (au) wrote: If you can get past the 'ick factor' of a pervert stepdad flirting and molesting/raping his teenage stepdaughter, Bel Powley (who I feel resembles both Molly Soda and Chloe Moretz) is a very good actress - too good for this movie.I feel like it tried to have deep, poignant moments but the only thing that really stuck with me was probably meant as a cast off scene - it revealed how fragile boys can be and how that carries into adulthood so often. When Minnie stops the teenage fumbling of her conquest and insists on climbing on top to take control of her own pleasure, the boy has no clue how to act; or when she's engaged in backseat fumbling, the boy says she is "too intense".Besides being uncomfortable the whole time with the taboo, I didn't really feel anything one way or the other with this and I feel like that is one of the worst things that can be said about a movie. A story about a teenager who doesn't know what they are doing or how to act is just not an interesting plot point.

John M (ag) wrote: Excellent, classic Western that features John Wayne in perhaps his best performance! A great tribute to the Army of the 1800's, with great cinematography that famously features Monument Valley. Lots of superior supporting performances, especially Ben Johnson who shows off his actual horse riding prowess!
