Luke B (de) wrote: Vampire Diary is yet another mockumentary/home movie type film. Here we follow a young documentary filmmaker that stumbles upon a real vampire. They start a lesbian relationship and soon open up to each other. As you do. It's a fascinating idea, especially for a world consumed with the sexy Twilight. It shows the absolute curse of vampirism and the dark side it brings out. It would have worked better as a straight drama without the "documentary" gimmick. The actors really don't seem comfortable. Most lines seemed force and it's like a poorly shot version of any evening soap opera. The relationships, at least, seemed real enough to make the film enjoyable but the whole interview/diary aspect is never fully explored.

It does labour at times, and is far from comedic brilliance, but fans of "Bean" should find at least something to enjoy here.
