Asher D (gb) wrote: Hobbit is a fun movie. The first act of the film is little slow with introducing the characters and some back story and I believe it could cut it down a little. However it's really nice to go back to this universe that I love so much and I really had a great time. The tone of the film is more adventurous and it's not as epic and dark as the Lord of the Rings but I think that's the right approach for this new trilogy and it separates from the Lord of the Rings trilogy. (but we will see with the rest of the Hobbit trilogy)Now for the 48 FPS version of this film, I honestly cannot say that I enjoy this version. The visual was amazing and it might be something that will change how we will see the movie. However, it gave me a headache through out the film, and it felt like it was too much information that I am observing in one time. On time to time, the film looked sped up and it takes me few minutes for my brain to process the film to be normal speed. As for the Extended version of this film, the theatrical version was kind of too long so adding few minutes on this movie didn't really help. It didn't really have additional backstory like the extended editions of the Lord of the Rings trilogy instead there are a lot of random scenes. However if you are huge fan of this universe like myself I believe you will enjoy it.Overall it's a great film and I can't wait the rest of the Hobbit movies.
Sylvia Q (ru) wrote: This movie somehow verifies the general belief that woman is likely to fall in love with the man after such intense sexual intimacy, irregardless of what her ulterior motive is from the outset. Check out the scene where Tang Wei serenades Tony Leung with a classical Chinese tune. No sex, just her feminine charm. Tony's tears are just so emotionally overpowering! To me, that is the most unforgettable scene.
Elaine J (gb) wrote: Marlon Brando plays Matt Fletcher a bone-weary saddle tramp, tired of life on the range who wants to settle down and breed horses. His dream is shattered when his prize Appaloosa stallion is stolen by a Mexican bandit. Not many critics seem to have liked this film, but I found it enthralling and well shot. The scenery was beautiful and the horse, an Appaloosa, was stunning, So Brando mumbles, but at least you can make out what he's saying unlike some of the dialogue in more modern films. Brando's acting was good as always, and added realism to the plot. All in all a good watch if you like the western genre.
