Starring Jurgen Prochnow ('The Replacement Killers' 'Air Force One' and Patrick Muldoon 'Stigmata' 'Starship Troopers'), 'Heart of America' is a powerhouse of a contemporary drama and essential viewing for anyone who was captivated by Michael Moore's 'Bowling For Columbine'. It is the last day of high school and the unthinkable is about to happen. Distraught at the constant abuse and bullying they have been subjected to, two students have made a suicide pact. But before they take their own lives, they are determined to cause chaos and murder amongst their fellow students.

Michael L (au) wrote: Horrible acting, Malcolm McDowell was great as the Devil, but that does not justify watching this movie. Very painful.
Jena M (de) wrote: It's a good movie, I don't know about great but I would say it makes me want to know a lot more about the Truth and Reconciliation project and if there are other ways/places of hurt where it could be applied. So I guess it's a good movie in terms of what it makes you start thinking about rather than fully in and of itself. That's okay with me.

Dave W (ca) wrote: Very well done. Too bad our local theaters are too PC to run the musical.
Matt C (it) wrote: The protagonist is not particularly likeable, as he adapts to the political climate of the day to get ahead, becoming implicitly involved in the murders he is trying to avoid by inaction. Or, as his father says, "slaughter and melancholy." Beautifully filmed and scripted, a film that desreves a second viewing.

Carmen Miranda is a delight as always, her clothes are outlandish, take special note of her shoes and wonder how she could possibly walk in them! One quibble, the technicolor is unusually garish and at times the cast pratically glows orange.
Amanda H (mx) wrote: This movie wasn't horrible. I was hoping to see some mad zombie action but there weren't any real zombies in the movie. The movie was kinda reminded "White Zombie," which is a way better movie, so id watch that one instead.
