Priti P (au) wrote: 'Talaash' is one movie, which is not about plot but totally about characters and their respective quests i.e. 'Talaash'. All three main characters are well defined and fine layered, a rare sight in our Bollywood movies. And all three actors have done full justice to their roles. An added feather to their acting cap is Nawazuddin. Shernaz as usual is good with her job.Aamir is in search of offloading his self imposed personal guilt, Rani is searching for lost emotional connection and Kareena is looking for justice. All three are in constant state of ache and despair and this has been beautifully portrayed. An extra point goes to Kareena for looking surreal in the film. Alongside, an extra point goes to Reema, for aptly showing two parallel but different journeys of Aamir without any overlap or confusion. This may be Reema's second directorial venture, but she is all set to carve a niche of her own. As Karan Johar is a pro in portraying various shades and intermittance of friendship and love, this lady is a master craftswoman with different interpersonal relationships. Various type of connections exist between two souls and she can understand and direct them very well. Also there is fine detailing in production design. Reema has kept the film as close to reality as possible. There are no item numbers or star specific make-up.Though the plot is new for the Indian screen, but Kareena's character is very much inspired from a Hollywood movie.Hats off to Aaamir for constantly spinning out 'different' movies one after another. This is one star who keeps you guessing, even after 24 years!

Ida E (it) wrote: This movie was wierd! I don't think I understood everyting either. This is a movie that I wouldn't watch twice.

Clay B (ca) wrote: This film is a joy to watch! You laugh, cry, and cheer all for the same character. Paul Giamatti gives a career-defining performance, and I have to say, this is one of my favorites of all time. Such a joy to watch,

Craig S (ca) wrote: Well worth the watch if you can handle the sex and the blood. Liked the performance of Sharrieff Pugh. Or was it just the muscles, big lips and bald head that I liked?

Cody C (us) wrote: Holds up. I like this movie a lot. It's not perfect but who the fuck cares. It's very good.

Jonathan B (ca) wrote: A strange tale of the formative years of George Ivanovich Gurdjieff on his quest for spiritual enlightenment across a vast tract of the Near and Middle East. The movie has a bizarre feel to it with little explanation of what is actually going on. Having watched it, I don't really feel I know much more about Gurdijeff and how he formulated his ideas than I did before and I certainly do not understand his teachings better. It is all very mystical and, I am sure supposed to be allegorical but comes over as rather episodic and stagey. The saving grace is the atmospheric direction by Peter Brook which makes the most of the utterly breathtaking landscapes and settings. This is definitely "art-house" and knowingly so, and I can't but wish that it gave the viewer a little more to go on as there are too many pregnant pauses and knowing looks between the cast that need to be filled with dialogue and exposition. In short I suppose the movie is like Eastern mysticism itself, fascinating, exotic but largely impenetrable to those of us of a more secular disposition.

Ed B (fr) wrote: Hitchcock's Psycho may have laid out the format for Gialli and slasher flicks to come, but to me, Blood And Black Lace should be labeled the first true slasher film. As with all proper slashers, a masked killer murders people in random ways with various weapons. There are red herrings that will keep you guessing and the film is a bit brutal at times and there would be 500 imitators and the slasher genre would rule Hollywood 2 decades later. The movie info listed on here gives away too much of the film, so don't read it. Instead, whether you're a fan of Psycho, Halloween or The Bird With The Crystal Plummage, brace yourself and watch this movie!

Robert P (es) wrote: Effective story telling. Not original or creative but interesting take on progress in the Wild West. Uncritical and unproblematic stance

Yuri B (de) wrote: Loved this movie... really discovered just how funny Segel really is!

Jules H (kr) wrote: Disney prides itself on making family films and HotR amounts to nothing more than a routine children's film lacking in broadness and heart. It puts so much energy into it's pacing that it neglects wit and emotion and is easily hailed as an udder embarrassment to Disney.

Justin T (gb) wrote: Not as good as the first film, in fact kills some of the whimsy established by the first movie.

Jimmy M (ag) wrote: A chance to cash of "sheriff" stars many of the same actors. Not as good as the first film but still is enjoyable. Suzanna Pleshette is entertaining as the hot blooded love interest and Garner is still as charming as hell.
