Movie K (fr) wrote: This is definitely a film for fans of the comic book series namesake. Others might have a bit of a hard time wrapping their heads around this movie. That being said...Matt Ryan IS John Constantine. The movie offers subtle (and not so subtle) nods to the much beloved TV series that made fans fall in love with the actor in the first place. The story is solid and haunting, the first 5 minutes earn the R-rating with some disturbing imagery and concepts. Batman's role in the whole story makes sense, and his ever present disdain towards all things magical will tickle you every time. Cameos from fantastic actors and characters will keep you wondering who you'll see next. It's a movie that takes risks and doesn't hide from them. It's a must see.

Miko M (jp) wrote: No other movie made me care more about it's characters in such short time.Brilliantly captures the atmosphere of a restaurant, combining witty costumer/waiters conversations with a fast paced behind the scenes look of the trendy NY eatery, and ends with a pinch of gangsters storyline for dessert. And, it makes you hungry.

Anders A (ca) wrote: If watching painting dry, would be an genre, this would be its reference feature. Endlessly long, Ive used a month going through it. Yes, there is a story in here, a dark one, about a ruined shitty godforsaken village with out-of-work people embracing thievery and cheap spirits. While the rain never ends, and their lives more forward in snail-speed, you get to see this in slow-fucking-motion.

Sarfara A (au) wrote: Disney's Escape To Witch Mountain is based on the novel of same name by Alexander Key. It's magical and it's got courage to flaunt those endeavors. Mild story about pre-teen young brother and sister 'Tony' and 'Tia' who are supposedly of extraterrestrial origins, both possess telekinetic as well as psychic powers. It may not hit the spot, but it surely is an entertainment drive.

Kate C (ca) wrote: Aw c'mon Dick and Debbie can't we all just gt along!? A young couple struggle with their maturing marriage in a time when marriages were changing... or rather the expectations for marriage and acceptance of divorce were changing... so this movie is like a cultural phenomenon played out. Its like peeking in through the curtains and watching their marriage unfold... or is it unravel?...
Tony C (ca) wrote: Chloe feels horribly out of place as Carrie. This reboot could have been fantastic, had they just made important changes. They should have made a twist, for example, Carrie's mom being telekinetic too, so they could have a battle, but instead it is a scene for scene disaster. The effects are great, but without a new story, the only people who could like tis, are those who haven't seen the original.

Justin B (kr) wrote: This movie is a bit of an enigma to me. I watched it too much when I was too young to get a lot of the humour so I never really am sure how I feel about it. Objectively it is what it is; entertaining summer blockbuster and clever enough mid-nineties staple.
