Gwen H (us) wrote: I actually really enjoyed the clever dialogue in this movie. It's definitely more of a "chick flick". i liked the characters, how they developed and interacted...especially the relationship and dialogue between Rita and Alice in the kitchen. I absolutely hated the ending... hence only 3 1/2 stars. goofy silly moronic ending to a good film.

Nedret R (jp) wrote: Superb performance by Judi Dench and Maggie Smith. Simple, sensual, scenic and so British!

Robert B (ru) wrote: The good things about this movie (gore and nudity) are ultimately snuffed out by bad acting, forgettable characters, bad editing and too many moments that should have been scary, but were just awkward and dull.

Greg C (gb) wrote: you have to smoke a seriously large amount of weed to enjoy any movie about an elephant addicted to heroin!

Agata G (ru) wrote: Yet another homecoming - themed chick flick, but this one lacks any originality or charm.

Steve S (es) wrote: ** (out of four) Michael J. Fox pokes a little fun at himself in this comedy about a one time child actor whose career has died. Now he is an agent for a bunch of lively and precocious children. Too bad the writing and direction doesn't live up to Fox's charms.

Jake S (nl) wrote: not a bad film pretty easy goin nothin to special to it tho good kind of movie to have playing in the background while you do something else

The Critic (ag) wrote: One of the better known, and altogether superior, films to come out of the golden age of blaxploitation cinema, 'Coffy' travels down a different path to a number of its contemporaries. Driven by revenge, a nurse takes on a drug and fetish prostitution ring. So who better than genre queen Pam Grier to play our strong, three-dimensional heroine? She is in excellent form here, expressing a range of emotions with ease, and the bad guys-both black and white-fulfil their moustache-twirling duties quite nicely. Tautly edited with a gorgeous soundtrack and costume design to enliven the senses, Jack Hill delivers a compelling crime drama that builds on momentum and spouts a number of quotable lines. A highly entertaining venture that stands high above most in its genre. Hill's 'Foxy Brown' (1974) was originally written as a sequel to 'Coffy', and sees Grier portraying a similar character in similar circumstances. It upped the violence and body count.

Bill T (br) wrote: Interesting, but ultimately head scratching tale of sex and communism. This all has One Big Statement, it's meaning slips me, but there's some great archive footage in there, which I always love.

Greg H (mx) wrote: Novelty of seeing Gleason and McQueen teamed up loses steam quickly. McQueen was born to play the tough guy. Proving this rule is this film, where he does not play the quintessential alpha dog. He hams it up and it just makes you sad. The pathos in the film comes out of nowhere and just hammers the nail in the coffin. Worth a glance or two but you're better off watching a double feature of Bullitt and an episode of The Honeymooners.

Peyton C (nl) wrote: A disgusting film with annoying humor and poor writing.
