Chris H (es) wrote: While Andre 3000 nailed Jimi's mannerisms when talking...I don't think he watched one video of Hendrix actually playing. He was so boring when he doo wopped back and forth on stage when playing guitar. no passion at all. The guitar playing that is featured was so boring and cliche it was offensive. no feedback, no sould, just some boring dude playing eric clapton type blues...no offense to Clapton...but the movie and he agree that Hendrix was a genius past all others. i see why the Hendrix family didn't allow them to use his music for the film as it lacked any soullastly the directing. what is going on here. frantic switching of dialogue (i get there was an acid reference element here but it didn't make sense) scenes where you couldn't hear dialogue. boring extremely long scenes with boring guitar playing....i do not get it.i was so excited for this movie as I loved Jimi Hendrix, and i thought Andre 3000 was a great fit. not so much. couldn't even make it to the end. after Hendrix "blew Clapton off the stage" by swaying back and forth i had had enough. in that concered he played with his teeth, behind his back, humped his guitar and this was not conveyed even slightly in the movie. such a bummer
