Amlie B (gb) wrote: This film was great... until i got to the ending. The end didn't fit in at all with the agriculture thesis they explained throughout the movie, and instead decided to show footage with awfully corny music. All they got out of me was some laughs, at how ridiculous & pointless this ending was.
Chiek E (nl) wrote: Buns and boobs galore in this tasteless comedy. The shocking thing is to see an actress like Demi Moore of such high stature who commanded the highest pay at her peak, would actually be strutting her stuff and baring her assets so boldly and unashamedly in a strip club for the world to see . Emancipated Demi and her pride and urgency to show off her boobs and buns to the world must have clouded her judgement on taking movies that are befitting of her stature. A rambunctious congressman Burt Reynolds was the only bright spark in this picture that made watching the movie bearable. One good lesson to all parents who worry that their children may not approve their jobs is to not do them.

Tim C (mx) wrote: Just watched this yesterday. If it wasn't for Barbra Streisand's amazing acting and singing abilities, this film would be a total doozie. She is like a doctor reviving a patient in regards to every scene she's in, and it doesn't help that the music in this musical is so displaced that one loses interest quickly. Yves Montand shouldn't have been casted as the psychiatrist, Bob Newhart shouldn't have played serious( because there was nothing funny about his seriousness), Jack Nicholson is barely there, but he is lovely to look at and a relief to see when we see him. Streisand keeps us interested and buoyant throughout this movie, and her characterization of Daisy Gamble, a woman with interesting ESP abilities and her contact to herself in a past life, British "tart" Melinda Tentrees gives dignity to this failed attempt as revitalizing the movie musical to the audiences at the time. It insults Vincente Minnelli's ability to direct. Still, Streisand is the only reason to see this movie, she is the only one "clear."
Davey M (gb) wrote: McMurray and Stanwyck are perfectly cast in Preston Sturges' gem of a script, a sweet, sad, funny, deeply felt road movie, a romantic comedy that rather courageously pushes against convention and expectation for an ending that's maybe a tad disappointing, but far more satisfying than the cop-out finale towards which we think we're headed. Producer and director Mitchell Liesen sets the perfect tone throughout--tender without being sentimental, funny, but always grounded, with a persistent melancholy running beneath the surface, thanks in large part to Sturges' expert writing and to Stanwyck's glorious, vulnerable, radiant performance. In "Remember the Night," relationships are complicated, people are complicated, the law and responsibility and crime and punishment are complicated, too complicated for simple screwball comedy conventions, and, at the end of the day, the heart wants what the heart wants, but it doesn't always get what it wants--or when or how it wants it. Tremendous.
Mixael X (ca) wrote: With a title like that, don't expect anything more than what it is; Trash. C-grade 1980:s trash. Trash with loads of puns on body parts and chainsaws, odd film noir style detective story narrative and of course lots of skin. But it's not meant to be serious. It's probably not even meant to be good. So, with that in mind, if that is what you are looking for, this is it.
