JD (kr) wrote: Still to this day I think Cowboy Bebop is one of the best animated shows on television. The TV show itself was very dark, edgy and really character driven, pretty much the four main characters in the show had great character development and they each had a great story to tell. Cowboy Bebop also had stellar animation and I thought the noir tone made the show more unique. The show also had incredible music, the music always set the tone perfectly and it was also just nice to listen too. When the show ended a lot of people were not very happy with the ending, I for one thought the ending was really well done, I thought it was dark and I thought it was a very clever way to end the series. Well, then the movie came out and here's my review on it. Well, first off I gotta say that this movie is not better then the show, the show was much funnier and the characters were way more enjoyable, but that being said this movie was still very good. Spike, Jet, Faye and Edward all return for the movie and none of them let you down. They all supply great laughs and very interesting conversations, the action in this movie was also very well done. The action in the Cowboy Bebop movie was one thing that was a step up from the show because the action in this movie was more bloody and more entertaining to watch. Spike was also great in the movie, he was always my favorite character in the show and in the movie he didn't disappoint. Like, I said the movie is not better then the show by no means, but that still doesn't mean the movie isn't good. This movie is really good, it's obviously meant only for Cowboy Bebop fans, but oh well the movie still works. The Animation was well designed, the characters were great, the script was well written and the story was actually entertaining to watch. So, if your fans of the show give this movie a go, but you haven't seen the show, I suggest you watch it because the show is really good, probably one of the best shows that was on TV.

Michael J (mx) wrote: a woman's perspective on WW2: spy thriller, love story, but most of all its about someone who finds more of her true identity by taking on a different persona.. good story, beautifully filmed, good performances, but somehow less than satisfying.. i think the narrative jumps around too much.. scenes dont develop, they feel brutally edited.. i didnt become invested enough in the characters.. perhaps the book is better

It's a movie built upon lies and that relies on its leads, Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn too much, but it is a really fun time. I enjoyed every second of this film even as I felt the signs of a film that out stayed its welcomed slightly. As with a lot of Frank Oz's films, it's a small film that builds off of one idea and just keeps multiplying. The films concept was simple and fun in my opinion, and it all worked so well, even if it shouldn't have. The movie begins when we see Davis propose to his longtime girlfriend by showing her the house he designed and built for them. However she says no. Fast forward three months, and Davis has a one night stand with a waitress(Gwen), to whom he tells about the home. Well con artist Gwen goes to the house and moves in, telling the people of the small town that she is Davis's new wife. When Davis finds out, he goes along with it as he sees that all her lying could actually benefit him.The movie had a strong appeal to me. I loved Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn(who I normally don't) in their respected roles. They worked extremely well off of each other and they made the simple premise work smoothly. I also liked the twists of the lies as the film went on.This isn't a movie that's going to amaze you. It isn't a great movie, and I can admit that. That being said, I really did like it and believe it is really underrated. It's funny, it features two good comedic performances, and the premise leads to some pretty great situations. It isn't a new favorite of mine, but it is one I'd love to see again at some point.

Jeff K (us) wrote: Its a good movie, with only a few scientific errors and a solid plotline to follow. It does have good special effects for its time and I think it should be remade as a summer blockbuster sometime in the near future.

Scott H (de) wrote: A lot better than I could have imagined. While it really has no plot for the first hour, it's entertaining enough and funny enough to be watchable until the plot presents itself. Additionally, it has some poignant scenes and commentary. Good flick.
