Johnny R (ca) wrote: Ridiculous, over the top violence, gorgeous colors, an insanely WEIRD story. This movie is everything you want in a comic book adaptation. It is definitely recommended for fans of 2012's Dredd, or fun, weird action movies that are just as well-written as they are insane.

Jimmy W (ca) wrote: With an 87% audience approval rating, why does rotten tomatoes show only the few audience reviews that are negative?

F B (ag) wrote: A very average film that was easy to watch but a bit stupid and poor acting at times. Not one to watch again.

Don S (it) wrote: Was surprised by this one. The acting was decent, and I didn't have too much trouble understanding the thick English accents. The story is involving, though not too original. The effects were satisfactory for a low budget film, and there was enough suspense to satisfy my tastes. Give this one a try.

Angela A (ca) wrote: I hate this movie. It is so bad.

James C (au) wrote: weak plot lines and crappy punk baddies hamper the feeling you have for kersey. but he's still brilliant with his vigilante alter ego

Ian R (de) wrote: This is a tremendously funny movie. It is a perfect tribute/parody of the silent film genre. Mel Brooks captures and uses the tricks of silent films with great humourous effect.. I laughed so much during this film. And I really enjoyed some of the big names that were involved, like Burt Reynolds and James Caan. It was really entertaining to see them over-acting in this film. It's a really fun show.

Baurushan J (nl) wrote: Every famous actor has a beginning, you know the very first movie they ever did, that. So did THE BRONY MAN!!!!!!!!! This is Hercules In New York. The story is about Hercules who wishes to visit Earth so his father Zeus accidentally sends him tumbling down to the plant even though he forbids him on a voyage. He lands in New York where of course we get our comedy of the movie. The movie is kid-friendly has a wide variety of genres and introduced us to THE BRONY MAN!!!!!!!!!! Arnold Schwarzenegger could not speak English back then so they dubbed his voice to remove his accent but his original vocal tracks were restored in the 200o re-release of the film. Also because his name was too long, he was only credited as Arnold Strong referring to the fact that he was and is now a bodybuilder. THE BRONY MAN!!!!!!!! Arnold Schwarzenegger's first ever movie Hercules In New York (1969) gets a weak 10/10.

Tyler H (ru) wrote: how do these overpaid critics give a decent movie a bad review? this is one of many reasons I hate Hollywood overpaid and blind. this is a decent movie and still stands up today as it did back in '98

Roberto R (us) wrote: Quite entertaining but a fairly down beat tale of the rise and fall of Tommy Gibbs played by Fred Williamson. He is really good in the part, I don't think i've seen him in anything before (with the exception of From Dusk to Dawn). Plenty of shootings with what looks like red paint you would get from a DIY store sprayed everywhere and every other word is the N one! You got the italian mobsters, the corrupt irish cop and then the young flashy hood taking control of the city by blackmailing the corrupt commissioner Mckinney (Art Lund) and generally killing everyone else, but like in this genre of movie he also alienates the one he loves.Good location footage of New york city from the 1970s. The protagonists strut around in their clothes, that resemble 1930s gangsters. I suppose it is pretty formulaic film making and made on a budget, and very much of its time. The time line is a very confusing and that is a problem i found with the movies narrative. It would seem, it all happens in one night and is over with for Tommy Gibbs, the film actually covers a number of years. You've seen it all before with James Cagney in the golden age of cinema and you have the posters and t shirts of Al in Scarface. These films all have pretty much the same plot and characteristics. It also has a rather groovy sound track by James Brown too!
