Jack G (de) wrote: It's a minor work, akin to the doc The Big One where Michael Moore, instead of taking on a topic and putting himself in it from time to time, is the main focus as he goes from city to city to rally support to vote. It's got some annoying musical cues in the scoring (really same music over and over again, come on Mike), but its message is spot-on, and not always to the choir preached: 15 minutes of the movie shows how, however small, Republicans did come out to protest at the Moore events and some even chanted "Our Father Lord in Heaven..." It made it even more worthwhile, but that said it's not worth paying a cent to see. I'm glad Moore went that route because it's the film he's made that is least deserving to make any money - but as a youtube video, believe you me there are tons worse or more offensive... that is, unless of course you hate Michael Moore, then you probably wont bother anyway and it all works out for everyone.

Gunpowder B (mx) wrote: Everything you should expect from a big-budget, 90s niche-fear thriller, from the convenient plot demands that perfectly mirror the characters' capabilities to cheesy animatronic beasts, it would be irresponsible to hold what Arachnophobia isn't, funny, scary, or realistic, against it's big picture reliability.
Sasha J (us) wrote: The movie is powerful and beautiful but Helena Bonham Carter's role of Lady Jane was very good. It was sad at the end.

Dean M (br) wrote: This is a very entertaining film. Some of the acting of Jim Hutton & Katharine Ross may have been less than one would expect. But the film should be seen keeping mind that this was years before the disaster films of the early seventies like The Poseidon Adventure & The Towering Inferno. It is a fun watch as Chance Buckman's (John Wayne) crew travels the world putting out oil well fires while kindling a few fires of their own in the local women. It is fun to watch many of the fire-fighting scenes today and wonder how they pulled this off thirty years ago. It is very Wayne as can be seen as some of his regulars turn up here, such as Bruce Cabot, Edward Faulkner who were part of his stable. This is the first time I ever saw Jim Hutton (father of actor Timothy Hutton) in this action-adventure film.

Sean D (mx) wrote: I came away from this movie with a new respect for the power of love... or was it sex? I was pretty much in a laughing rage the entire film! Dane Cook is amazingly funny and Jessica Alba is an amazing actress and SO HOT! all of the above
