Rachel G (ag) wrote: Not quite as "riveting" as I was hoping for, but it was cool to see Metropolis, IL featured!

Shortly after arriving in the port city, a string of gruesome murders start happening, some right in front of him. He does some digging and discovers the town has a tragic past. Could it be the ghost of the man responsible for the historic tragedies or is a serial killer on the loose?"It's a disease of the mind, not ghosts."Kim Dae-seung, director of Bungee Jumping of Their Own, Traces of Love, and The Concubine, delivers Blood Rain. The storyline for this picture is very unique and well done. The kill scenes were excellent and the acting was solid, but the character development could have been better. The cast includes Cha Seung-Won, Park Yong-woo, Ji Seong, and Yun Se-ah."Like your father, hiding your shame with brutality."This was a fascinating and unique take on the genre. There was a nice mix of detective drama, samurai, and gruesome murders. I really felt this was a thorough picture; however, I wasn't wrapped up in the characters as I would have liked to have been. Overall, this is definitely a worthwhile picture that is borderline worth adding to your DVD collection."You are thinking dangerous thoughts."Grade: B

Cynthia S (it) wrote: I watched this to see William H. Macy. Not the greatest of movies, but not terrible. The German actors were mostly top-notch. Some of the American ones were pretty sad, however...Lauren Holly, especially. The story itself was interesting....

Steve B (it) wrote: Stories from King and Clive Barker make up this Mick Garris TV offering. The King story is another lame-o called Chattery Teeth. It's hardly worth looking at.

Jeff D (jp) wrote: Loads of fun. Peter Ustinov is hilarious in this stylish heist flick.

jay n (ru) wrote: Satisfactory comedy is put over by a cute Shirley MacLaine performance and that old pro Edward G. Robinson. Bob Cummings has his moments as an egotistical star although the thought of him as a major romantic idol is a bit of a stretch. The major flaw as it always is in any film in which he appeared is that cinematic black hole Yves Montand. At least in his English language films he is so devoid of personality and charisma that he stops the picture dead in it's tracks whenever he is on screen. Also the fact that his character doesn't recognize his wife in geisha makeup when she looks exactly like Shirley MacLaine in a black wig and heavy makeup make him seem like a nitwit.

Ian G (us) wrote: a great satire of the unions and the social structures of 50s Britain. Quite a lot lighter than I was expecting. Sellers and Terry-Thomas are particularly good.

Justin B (br) wrote: A very cheap and unnecessary 3rd (4th?) remake of George Romero's original. It's bad but not totally braindead; focusing on character drama over zombie carnage.
