Jeremy B (gb) wrote: If you think Michael Moore is a bumbling fool as I do, then you will love this film. This film shows that Liberals don't rule hollywood, as much as they want to. But It also reminds people that 99% of films made in hollywood have a liberal tilt. Its sad to think how bias Hollywood has become. This film claims to be trying to offend everyone from Liberals to Democrats, to Republicans, and Conservatives, but it does lean to the right. But honestly, there is no way any filmmaker can even the score with as many Liberal films and filmmakers there are out there. Wish it were more even , but today in hollywood fair is not an option.

James H (gb) wrote: 63/100. Entertaining romantic comedy with a very likable cast. Good performances, especially Luke Wilson and Janeane Garofolo. It may not be anything new or original, but the stars pull it off. Pleasant score.

Walter M (mx) wrote: In "L'Enfance Nue," Simone(Linda Gutemberg) and Robert Joigny(Raoul Billerey) at one time thought adding a foster child to their family would be a good idea, especially as it would mean their daughter Josette(Pierrette Deplanque) would no longer have to grow up alone. That was before they took in Francois(Michel Terrazon) who they can no longer put up with, especially in the wake of his petty thievery and marking his territory. Killing the family cat is the final straw and the authorities take him back. Soon afterwards, he is placed with an older couple(Marie-Louise Thierry and Rene Thierry) who have plenty of experience with foster children. "L'Enfance Nue" is an understated social drama whose target is the foster care system in France at the time the film was made. It should be pointed out that there are no villains; everybody is trying to do the right thing, just out of their depths.(That having been said, heaven help you if you are black and want to be adopted.) That doesn't mean children do not suffer and I think Francois is a prime example of that. While he does awful things, he is not totally bad and is capable of thoughtfulness like the farewell gift for Simone. And it is telling that Francois Truffaut is one of the producers(about the only time he was a producer on a film he did not direct, by the way) in that it shares his preoccupation with lost children, the subjects of two of his best films, "The 400 Blows" and "Small Change."
mujahidi m (it) wrote: Prison Break is an American serial drama television series created by Paul Scheuring, which premiered on the Fox Broadcasting Company on August 29, 2005. The series revolves around two brothers; one who has been sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit, and the other, a genius, who devises an elaborate plan to help him escape prison. The series is produced by Adelstein-Parouse Productions, in association with Original Television and 20th Century Fox Television. The current executive producers are head writer Scheuring, co-head writer Matt Olmstead, Kevin Hooks, Marty Adelstein, Dawn Parouse, Neal H. Moritz, and Brett Ratner. The series' theme music is composed by Ramin Djawadi, and was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in 2006. The series was originally turned down by Fox in 2003, which was concerned about the long-term possibilities of such a series. Following the popularity of serialized prime time television series Lost and 24, Fox decided to back production in 2004. The first season received generally positive reviews, and performed well in the ratings. The first season was originally planned for a 13-episode run, but was extended to include an extra nine episodes due to its popularity. Prison Break has been nominated for several industry awards, and won the 2006 People's Choice Award for Favorite New TV Drama. The first three seasons have been released on DVD, while the first and third seasons have been also been released on Blu-ray Disc. The series has been aired internationally, including several non-English speaking countries. The success of the series has also inspired short videos for mobile phones, several official tie-ins in print and on the internet, and a video game in development. A spin-off series, Prison Break: Proof of Innocence, has been produced exclusively for mobile phones. The series has spawned an official magazine and a book written in an in-universe perspective. The fourth (and final) season is currently on hiatus and will resume on April 17, 2009.
Anna B (ag) wrote: I got caught up in the moments, but felt at the end like the parts that were most interesting weren't given their due attention in favour of the internal struggle of the White Male Anti-Hero Protagonist. Which of course is not a bad thing in and of itself, it's just that here it pushed all the good stuff (the intricate inner-workings of the team itself, and how they overcome their initial problems, stuff like that) into a couple of montages and perfunctory dialogue scenes, and it left me unsatisfied at the end, like there were a bunch of plot threads left hanging unresolved. It's exquisitely paced, and affected me emotionally at times, but it ended up being merely good when it could have been a lot more.
