Nate J (jp) wrote: I don't know if this movie knew what it wanted to be when it entered production. It was promoted as an alien flick. But then there's ghosts, wolves (big ass wolves like werewolves) and all kinds of weird shit. The problem is there was too much in one found footage movie, and it all felt kind of rushed. Pity, as movies that are blockbusters tend to capture the audience more, but this doesn't quite manage that.

Ken S (br) wrote: This film is dull and features a cast that couldn't really elevate the lame material if they wanted to. It turns out that Kong didn't die after being shot and falling from atop the Twin Towers in the first film...he is being kept alive in a lab in a coma. He will die son though, if he doesn't get a blood transfusion and a new artificial heart...luckily some guy just happens to catch a female Kong, and happily sells her to the university that is keeping Kong alive. This brings about a dramatic surgery scene that has all the tension sucked out by the comically oversized surgical tools. Soon the recuperating Kong smells the female and escapes with her in tow, and the boring humans have to stop them from rampaging on America. 1976's "King Kong" remake from Dino De Laurentiis hadn't really thrilled me. This sequel that was made and takes place ten years later...is worse.

Jens S (gb) wrote: When a perfectionist and always punctual headmaster gets on the wrong train, his well-organized world is falling to pieces and a trail of chaos ensues. Of course John Cleese is the perfect choice for the British gentleman who is set in his ways and stumbles into a series of misunderstandings and inconveniences. He is easily selling this film even through his slower parts, but the script makes sure to add one wonderfully uncomfortable situation behind the other and makes for a very British, very entertaining experience, even if the film feels a bit dated. One cell phone call would solve the whole problem nowadays. Still, in a way it is sad that there are no such comedies anymore.

Stefan G (br) wrote: You'd think it'd be impossible to make a great movie based off a rock album, but you'd be wrong, especially if this film actually uses music from the rock opera that inspired it. The film itself is quintessentially British, right down to the plot, the characters, and the setting. The acting is impressive, and the drama is powerfully delivered through its unique characters, and the general mood and atmosphere of the film itself. Through the plot, the film also does a damn good job at capturing what it was like in the era of "mods and rockers", while also taking you through the life of an angst-ridden 60's teenager, and carrying its theme of disillusionment through to the end. The film-makers obviously have excellent taste in music, because the soundtrack is actually great, featuring music from The Who and other artists, and the song used in the ending - "Love Reign O'er Me" - works so well on so many levels. Overall, it's a great movie that you really need to see in order to appreciate.

Greg W (us) wrote: The story has more twists than a pretzel, and they're all just as delicious.

Gena D (de) wrote: Meh. Poor animation, not catchy. Parts were a remake of my fair lady. It was just a dragged out 20 minute film.
