John E (ag) wrote: So few people take the time to really enjoy a fun campy romp. This is in line with other such schlockfests like "Dead and Breakfast" or "My name is Bruce." Competently filmed consistent characters, enjoyable groaners, and well paced. This one is going to go under a lot of people's radars.

You do have some solid acting and a good interpretation of what goes on in jazz bands with late nights, attitudes, and the way the play around with each other. So it provides a good foundation for an accurate jazz movie. However, the ending is so out of the context of the movie that I found myself saying "What the hell is this?!" It has a nice ending in some sense, but a little unrelated to the whole jazz profession.
